As Elections Near, Officials Challenge Balloting Security
In Controlled Test, Results Are Manipulated in Florida System

As the Leon County supervisor of elections, Ion Sancho's job is to make sure voting is free of fraud. But the most brazen effort lately to manipulate election results in this Florida locality was carried out by Sancho himself.

Four times over the past year Sancho told computer specialists to break in to his voting system. And on all four occasions they did, changing results with what the specialists described as relatively unsophisticated hacking techniques. To Sancho, the results showed the vulnerability of voting equipment manufactured by Ohio-based Diebold Election Systems, which is used by Leon County and many other jurisdictions around the country.

But the questions raised by Sancho, who has held his post since 1989, show how the concerns are being taken more seriously among elections professionals.

"While electronic voting systems hold promise for improving the election process," the Government Accountability Office said in a report to Congress last year, there are still pressing concerns about "security and reliability . . . design flaws" and other issues.

Public consciousness & concern over this matter must be brought to critical mass. Voting security has to become a topic of conversation in every big city wine-bar and small-town watering hole across the land. SG

next reelection campaign. The slime will come hot and heavy.

although she trails by 20 points, why do they bother to hold an election at all, when
they can announce the winner before the race. But this is not election fraud, it's
voting fraud-NOT.

They'll have to use the security holes to beat him in an election, and he's already watching them.

The truth is that For years and years, the American People, We the People, have had our voices ignored stuck in a machine that no one understands. this is obvious enough if you do a little reaserch at such places like www.blackboxvoting.org www.votergate.tv and other such places that only virtually exist on the internet. But the TV's and Radios don't even mention it, Why? Because the Radios and TV's are controlled by no more then 6 people. the internet is controlled by us. We the People Have control of the internet. We the People control our computers. We the People control what we see here and read on the internet. That is why I kick this, and that is why you should too.
