Bill Clinton and the ABCs of Irony |
|
Remember how the always accommodating DLClinton did his part for media consolidation? And this is the thanks he gets from his friends at ABC?
I guess there's no honor among...whatever they are

1. You only make yourself look bad with a post like this. |

3. How about this? Fuck Bill Clinton and the imitation donkey he rode in on |
|
See, I think those that have this weird slavish devotion to the cult of "The Big Dawg" (What a stupid honorific!) are the ones who make themselves look bad. The lesser of two evils is still pretty fucking evil.

Does present a danger to Democracy and there is some truth to what you're saying, but it's not quite that simple.
The overall media problem can be attributed to Ray'gun's push to repeal the fairness doctrine.
I think above all else, Clinton was a realist. I believe Clinton did what he could with the congress he had.

5. Yes, we made so many progressive gains under the realist DLClinton |
|
uh, thanksalot Bill. You are correct in that the problem started with Reagan, but DLClinton certainly carried his fair share of water.

4. media consolidation started back during Bush 1.... |
|
It started out as a relaxation of the Duopoly rules which at the time prohibited any one company or individual from owning over a certain percentage of media in a given city...
THus the most popular AM station could not be owned by the daily or a television station...
There were exceptions...
But they started to relax that part of the FCC regulation back in 1988 or 89....
That was the beginning of the end of local and proprietorship owners of media...
