More and more the neo cons are referring to us as appeasers of Osama and terrorism, more and more they are speaking as though liberals and anyone who opposes them are one in the same as the enemies of freedom.

BushCo have been dividing Americans since Dimson took office. First they used religion. Then it was liberals who were poison. Over time, out of necessity (because they're THAT bad) it's become anyone who opposes them.

And if you look at the Patriot Act, Homeland Security powers, the lack ofsecurity at airports and ports and the extremely large amount of security at the White House, you will notice that all of this is to protect the White House from us, not us from the terrorists. "Security" has been about protecting the government FROM us, not about protecting us from anything or anybody.

Searches to get into federal (public) buildings, restrictions on what you can bring in there, impossible to call them where you could before.

"Everything changed" since 911 is true when it comes to a citizen's contact with the government.

The most extreme example I ran into is filing papers in the federal courthouse (bankruptcy court, no less, as if Al Qaeda would file bankruptcy papers or motions in a bankruptcy case as part of a terrorist attack). You had to put them in a box and they could move the box to them. In other words, they were not going to take papers from peoples' hands, in order to protect themselves.

And those who work for the government have gotten considerably more uppity and self important and unjust and willing to let their opinions color their decisions over and above the law.

Actually everything changed since Jan 2001 when * took over. Not too many people noticed. 9-11 allowed them to move faster. Remember one of the first things * did was to not walk the last mile of the ceremony for the inauguration. Then he started closing down access to view the White House.
