Here's what I am going to do on Monday, September 11 |
|
Get up early in the morning and go to work.
Take a minute alone and quietly remember those who we lost on 9/11/01.
Do my work at the office.
Go home around 6.
Rent a good movie, or see what movies are playing on the Encore channels.
Go to bed around 10.

4. ABC cancelled the "Wonder Years" |
|
That show deserved one more season, to let Kevin graduate from high school.
Of course, NBC is on my shit list too for cancelling "American Dreams".

6. I'm going to the grave-site of Father Mychal Judge, the first |

recorded casualty of 9-11. The chaplain of the NYFD died while giving last rites to a dying firefighter. He epitomizes and humanizes 9-11 to me.

7. I'd add to that a "Sing my friend/coworker happy birthday". |
|
He is still very upset that his birthday is on Sept. 11th and really doesn't want to deal with it. He's the only one in our office who rejects the regular donuts/coffee that we normally do for everyone. This year is his 60th. I am going to try my best to drill it into him that life goes on and he cannot change that one bit. He's lost actual people he knew on other days including other Sept. 11th's, but he hasn't stopped living. I am sure all the people who died that day would think it inappropriate for him to not celebrate his birthday.
Maybe he's still feeling that on 9/11, our world changed. I feel that way too still, but the difference may be that I know it had nothing to do with the planes hitting the towers.

8. I feel really bad for your coworker. |
|
That would suck worse than being a kid with cheap relatives whose birthday is 12-25.
