I am going to contact my local school board re: " Path to 9/11" |
|
I think every school board should be aware of the nature of this so-called 'documentary' which has the potential to poison the minds of not only today's students but those who are to follow.
This is a contaminated product, just as contaminated food in school cafeterias would be.

mention the politically biased pre-screening, and ask why they'd want to teach the children fictional material as real history.

3. Here is a letter I just sent to our Superintendent of Schools |
|
and I sent a copy to the principals of my children's schools:
Dear Dr. ______: I am contacting you because I am concerned about a study/discussion guide produced by ABC/Disney and distributed to educators by Scholastic, on the movie “The Path to 911”. The movie is also being provided free of charge to schools, for use with this study guide.
Although ABC has backed off from their original advertisement of this movie as a “docu-drama”, the current disclaimer states that the movie is based on the 911 Commission Report (among other sources), when in fact it contradicts the 911 Commission Report on key points, especially in regard to the Clinton Administration’s handling of terrorism. The Clinton Administration is presented as being “weak and inept” in dealing with the threat, in contrast to the “strong and competent” Bush Administration.
I don’t know why Scholastic is participating in this somewhat Orwellian attempt to rewrite history, particularly targeted toward high school students (who will be voting in the next presidential election). I have contacted Scholastic directly to try and get some answers on this. Yesterday I viewed the study guide at their company website, but interestingly, today it has been removed.
I request that the _________ Joint Unified School District not present to students this questionable rendering of the events leading up to the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, and reject the use of “The Path to 911” movie or study guide in any of its classrooms. If parents wish their children to view the film, it should be at home at the parents’ sole discretion.
If the District does allow this study guide and film to be used in my children's classrooms, I would appreciate being informed, because I wish to “opt out” of their participation.
Thank you for all your work on behalf of our kids and young adults. -- Wanet
