4. I assumed Mehlman was gay. I don't care. His actions are evil. |
|
The sounding like a gay man part was rank. Does Cheney sound like a heterosexual man? What's the criteria? Mehlman is just a CORRUPT REPUBLICAN.

12. Attack the hypocrisy, fine--but don't throw an anti-gay slur |
|
just because he's Mehlman. Shall we refer to Clarence Thomas using the N-word, too?

13. It is important to know if Mehlman is gay.... |
|
...because this demonstrates the glaring hypocrisy of the neocon, conservative fascists for whom he works.
These bastards terrified their church-going fans into voting for BUSH by using gay marriage. They used the gay marriage issue to fear monger the fundies into running to the polls.
In addition, Bush continually props himself up as a social conservative, religious, Bible-toting God boy. He gives the fundie sheep the impression that he does not support gay people or the gay agenda.
So, if a gay man is one of his closest advisers--it does spell hypocrisy. This demonstrates that Junior does NOT plan to impede gay marriage, nor is he against the gay agenda. Although these are positive things---they are not what his fans expect. They want a gay hater. They voted for a gay hater who would amend the Constitution to specifically state the marriage is between a man and a woman.
Anything that helps these mind-numbed, religious zealot sheep see--once and for all--that Bush only uses religious and social issues to cull votes---is good.
These people won't wake up on their own.

It's not like Rachel's just calling someone "gay" or something. As you rightly said, when someone is a high-level advisor to a major anti-gay politician and he refuses to state on the record whether he is straight, the People have a right to know whether this person is a complete hypocrite.
If someone were an anti-choice politician or an advisor to one, it would not be wrong in the slightest to publicize the fact that said politician or advisor helped his daughter get an abortion. It would be wrong if the person took no stance on the issue, but when they are actively engaged in (or simply are) bigots and/or misogynists get into office, they deserve no sympathy when their hypocrisy is exposed.

15. It matters not if Mehlman is gay. |
|
I often urge DU'ers to take the battle to the pigs but sinking to there level does us no good. I have more tolerance of others than that. I would not want anyone casting stones at me for who I choose to love. I would not do that to someone else. Now if you could catch him propositioning men in Lafayette park that would be news.

18. Did you notice that Tucker admitted he was worthless ? lol. |
|
The lines came about 3/4 of the way through.I will paraphrase it but tucker said why dont we take 80% of college students and give them 100% paid apprenticeships so they would learn something useful. He went on to say he wished he did that.lol lol. So I guess he isnt so useful huh ?

19. She missed an opportunity to point out the absurdity of the fact that |
|
Bin Laden is still alive and threatening Americans. That would have been more productive than pointing out that yet one more Republican is a hypocrite.
She did not represent Democrats well in her presentation.
She, a Rhodes Scholor, allowed Carlson, who himself admits he should have been shunted into a trade school weasle out of admiting the truth. That Bush has broken yet another promise to the American people, and has allowed Bin Laden to continue to threaten our people.
If she wants to shock, she ought to perhaps speculate that Bin Laden seems to appear whenever Bush's poll numbers tank.
