Old Farmers Almanac; Good News about Global Warming |
|
:wtf: Seriously. I just got my 2007 Farmers Almanac today. Big section talking about the good things about Global Warming. Would love to know who funded this crap. 1. Warmer weather is good for you. States that a warming of 4.5 F would lower the annual death rate in the US by 40,000 while reducing medical costs almost $20 billion PER YEAR. 2. Warmer temperatures save energy. 3. Water is more abundant. 4. Plants thrive in heat and CO2. 5. Arctic shipping routes will save time and energy and open up access to new gas and oil fields. 1. Farmer's Almanac are not climate scientists. |
|
They still look at catapillar stripes to determine winter severity. ;-)

4. Quick! Someone ship our local weather forecasters a bunch of caterpillars! |

They never get it right.
I used to have a bear fat barometer... worked like a charm.

2. 2. Warmer temperatures save energy. |

Riiight. All the extra fans and air-conditioners running sure does save energy!
:eyes:
However, I can see a rise in new business! I think I'll start selling snow balls to Eskimos!
( need I really insert :sarcasm: here? )

2. Warmer temperatures save energy. Not during the summer...
3. Water is more abundant. I'm sure the people living along the coasts will appreciate that!
4. Plants thrive in heat and CO2. Yes, so do viruses and bacteria. Look for a burst of diseases.
5. Arctic shipping routes will save time and energy and open up access to new gas and oil fields. Which we can use to create more global warming, further damaging the ecosystem! But there's that pesky Gulf Stream thingie though - global warming will turn it off, and anything north of about the 50th parallel will turn into a permanent iceberg. That, BTW is most of the inhabited land in the world.
Enjoy your global warming, Ms. Propagandist!
