I had planned to shut off the TV on 9/11
I intended to turn off the radio and not buy a newspaper, either, on 9/11. However, for nearly a week prior, we are already getting blasted in every media form there is about the ABC Movie, the health condition of the first responders, Bush's Photo Op, etc., etc.

Let me explain why. I used to work in our school district. One of the teachers lost her husband on that day. After being out from work on nearly a month's leave, she quit her job. I do not know what happened to her.

An adorable 1st grade girl with big blue eyes and long blonde ponytails lost BOTH her parents that day. Her Grandma had to try to explain to her that Mommy and Daddy were now in Heaven with God and would not be coming home. She never came back to school either. The girl and her Grandma moved away to another state.

There is a farm stand near where I live. The owners were getting up in years and their son quit his job to help them work the farm. He wanted to run it, but his parents weren't quite ready to retire. He decided in August of 2001 to go back to work at his former job as a broker at Cantor Fitzgerald. I will not go into the details, but his sister told me that from the remains they recovered, he did not die in the building. He left a wife and two young sons.

Another man I know worked at Deutsch Bank. He got a phone call late the night before saying that he had to go that morning to an emergency meeting in Jersey City. He watched it all from the other side of the river. Fifteen of his coworkers did not make it out alive. The man has been in counseling for the past 5 years.

Several days ago, the receptionist at the new job where I am working, glanced down at the newspaper on a desk. She told me she cannot look at any of these things either. Then she said to me did I know that her daughter was in Tower 2 and escaped right before the building collapsed. Her daughter's fiancee, who worked on one of the upper floors, didn't make it out alive.

It just seems there is nobody I meet who doesn't have someone who was a victim of 9/11.

This is all too personal and too fresh for so many of us. It just rips my heart out to see the media scrambling for ratings/political points. I cannot express the disgust I have with *. New York is just background scenery for his political photo ops.

Let the dead rest in peace. They should not be exploited for anybody's agenda. September 11, 2005 must not become some circus side show.

I had to let all this out.

1. It's easy for many to forget the humanity of 9/11...
...and you can thank the Bush admin for that. They were the first and the fiercest to exploit a national tragedy for partisan gain. For that, I hope they burn in hell...:grr:

5. I'm going to repeat that George W Bush provoked 9-11

until everyone gets the message and severely criticizes the Republiklan party for their deadly foreign policy with the Taliban terrorists from jan 2001 until July 2001.

9-11 deaths happened under a REPUBLICAN administration. They appear soft on terrorism and weak on national defense.

3. I plan to do the same
I did it last year and the year before that. Instead, I reflect on the day I witnessed this event and think about those who perished.

Turn off the M$M...for good.

4. It has turned from a horrible tragedy into an
exploited mess. It's being used for political and financial gain. This is very, very wrong.

As far as your own personal experience, I'm sorry. I don't have any words that would bring any comfort to you or the people you know. I will never forget those that have died or the loved ones they left behind.
