Why "The Path to 9/11"????
I feel like I am in a dream - a good one for a change.

Democrats of all stripes are unifying and FIGHTING an obviously slanted documentary!

But WHY does this comparatively minor event finally get the Dems of D.C. fighting like the Dems of DU?

Why NOW!?!?

I have wanted us all to act like this since 1980.

Why is this little movie the BIG DEAL? With the literally hundreds of far, far worse incidents that the official Dems of D.C. have let slide - or even questioned our right to protest against - for years and years????

I don't get it.

Camel's back breaking? Tipping point? Is that all there is to it?

Any ideas? I'm grateful - but baffled.

:eyes: :silly: :wtf:

1. NO MORE LIES!
Edited on Thu Sep-07-06 11:07 PM by mnhtnbb
9/11 is sacred ground. It's like Pearl Harbor. The memory of those who died deserves the truth. If we can't ever know the truth, fine. But no more deliberate lies, fantasy, or revisionist history.

5. That is persuasive.
The "sacred ground" idea.

I didn't think the D.C. Dems would even defend that. 26 years is a long time to wait for some fighting spirit to show through!

2. Well that's 6 hours of his life he's never going to get back
and that, for us, is a good thing.

I agree with post #2. NO MORE LIES! They kicked this dog one time too many and eventually, the pack bites back.

3. I think it's because so many people, and not just Dems, realize
NOW, how great things were when Clinton was President, and they're not about to sit around and keep quiet when some AH writer tries to blame the biggest fiasco in American history on BC! People are pissed that ShrubCo hsas mucked up everything he's touched, both in his personal life and his public life, and he always seems to manage to walk away clean!

4. Oh C'mon Fred...
Your question cannot be serious.

Did you see former Defense Secretary, William Cohen (R) under President Clinton talking about today?

He's not a Democrat and he was SEEEEETHING mad

7. No, I didn't see that.
Not sure why you would ask if I was serious........ The Dems of D.C. let slide torture photos and secret CIA prisons, the suspension of habeas corpus (in effect), massive serial lying to get us into a war, 8 billion dollars missing, an entire American city left to drown, anthrax killer(s) etc and etc.

Why is a made for TV movie the catalyst and not these other FAR more heinous crimes?

I don't get it.........

9. Read it and I wonder:
So the movie fracas covers up bigger evils?

How do you explain the Dems role in that theory?

Are you saying they have volunteered to do the covering-up by fighting over this movie?

Just not clear what you mean exactly.....

8. The Dems and the DLC know were the fault for 9/11 really falls.....
and trying to blame them for it is enough to piss off even the DLC. 9/11 is Bush's baby and history will judge him very harshly when the truth finally come out.

10. You and me both.
Maybe Ned Lamont? Maybe delayed reaction to the grassroots campaign for Dean for DNC chair? Maybe Rumbo calling us all traitors got their dander up, finally? Maybe it's their Howard Beale moment that finally pushed them over the edge?

What I'm really waiting for is the moment when some puke pulls out the cut 'n' run coward traitor card and some Dem with guts says, "I'm sick and tired of that GD lie that you chickenhawk liars have been peddling for forty years now!" When someone does that, I'll believe this isn't just an aberration or mirage.

I was about to post at that point, but on "preview," I thought:

Boy, ya know, now that I think about it: Until a Dem does come back with "I'm sick and tired of that GD lie that you chickenhawk liars have been peddling for forty years now!" they really are being cowards. It's time to confront these anti-constitution anti-freedom chickenhawk freaks and liars and give it as good as they do. As someone else on DU said recently (sorry, don't remember who), "Liberals wrap themselves in the constitution and burn the flag. Conservatives wrap themselves in the flag and burn the constitution."

Anyway, to Reid and the others:

13. Time will tell, hvn
"Tipping points" are famous for being set off by something small - afterall, it's always a mere "straw" that breaks the "camel's back".

I just hope and pray that this really is the tipping point!

16. It feels so good!
I really don't know why there is action now but it is wonderful! I would sit here and read horrible lies and see things twisted beyond belief and feel as if I were the only one to notice. I know that finding DU has given me so much relief, just to know that I am not alone is soothing. I have always wonder why everyone let Limbaugh get away with all his crap.I remember once Bill Clinton said something about the 3 hours of slander and everyone in the media jumped on him. I think Keith, John and AAR has helped make people not so afraid to speak out. There are so many people who feel as we do and we must make our voices heard,it is so important for the future of our Country.

17. pathetic
And yet, how pathetic that the only thing the Republicans come up with is a slanted propaganda film to show that 9/11 was really OUR fault. What happens in the sequel? Iraq forced us to invade them? Katrina didn't really happen?
