How sad is it when you have to actually sell a war?
Imagine you have the most god awful sent from hell product in the world, like bush's war, and you have to sell it to the market and package it and when it isn't working you have to send out your very worst, bumbling idiot representative to read sales pitches you've written for him and have him "embark on a series of speeches".

How desperate is that? Have bush embark on a series of speeches. That's all he ever fucking does is embark on a series of speeches, and he's the worst orator and salesman ever born. How is bush embarking on a series of speeches going to help sell a gigantic, rotting clusterfuck?

Sometimes I feel like a hog staring at a wrist watch.

1. There are always folks willing to buy a bottle of snake oil
Or as Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute. Today we call them Bushbots.

2. Agreed and Well Said.
The problem for Mr. Bush, however is just really what are his options at this point. 2 Months to the election, Iraq in Meltdown, Failures across the board, what else can he do, but hit the road and try to tell everyone he has done a good job. He really is in something of a corner one of his making, but a corner nonetheless.

4. They think they just need better PR
I do believe they've actually hired a hot shot PR firm to do just this.

I too wonder why there isn't a screaming at the top of your lungs response to this blatant fascism. I don't see anyone up there representing me.

11. Peace sells, but who's buying?
Edited on Sat Sep-09-06 10:33 AM by genie_weenie
War profiteers have been selling war to the "lesser" Americans for a long time. I'm only glad that now they seems that since the 20th century Wars must be sold as the Climatic Final Struggle of Good v. Evil, The Final Conflict of Ahura Mazda and Angro Mainyus...

14. From the Bush/Couric interview:
Bush: "one of the hardest parts of my job is to connect Iraq to the war on terror."

It's hard because its a pile of made up crap.
