Google Developing Eavesdropping Software
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 05:24 AM by zonkers
"...The idea is to use the existing PC microphone to listen to whatever is heard in the background, be it music, your phone going off or the TV turned down. The PC then identifies it, using fingerprinting, and then shows you relevant content, whether that's adverts or search results, or a chat room on the subject."

1. And then let's Agent Mike know...

2. I want this legislated out of existence.
I want implementing it to carry a sentence of ten years hard, backbreaking labor.

4. Why do these companies think that is alright to do?
WHy do they believe that it is okay to violate the privacy of your home? I can post a sign on my property to keep soliciters out. But apparently the electronic media companies just find ways around their privacy assurances.

I don't understand why the whole privacy issue is so assbackwards. Why shouldn't information about me and any busniness I conduct be off limits and the people interested in it have to contact me for permission to use it? What happens now is that they basically inform you they will use it unless you tell them not to.
