10. The Billy Jack movies were considered socially progressive at the time
I think he should use a round-house kick against his opponent.

4. I'm glad I'm wrong
Maybe it was something on the website after 9-11 that gave me a wrong impression.

9. He's a strange mix
of conservative and strick constitutionalist. I do not think he ever supported Bush. Interesting fellow, and it's interesting to note that his "Trial of Billy Jack" was targeted by republicans who felt it should not be seen by young people. Though dated, I think it is a heck of a movie.

13. My dad banned me from w atching Billy Jack
At first I thought it was about the violence but now I know it was do to it's political message. The kent state parody at the end of the trial of billy jack is particulary haunting and heart breaking.

7. Here's an excerpt from his blog. I don't think he is so progressive.

Where do Delores and I stand politically?

“The greatest danger facing America is that it will split into two parties (factions) and men will put their loyalty to their party ahead of their loyalty to the people and the country as a whole.” -- George Washington

We don’t disdain both the Democrat and Republican Parties, we loathe them. We are not non-partisan, we are fiercely anti-partisan. We believe the two Parties have destroyed America, just as George Washington predicted they would.

11. That alone does not
seem to indicate that he is not progressive. He isn't calling for a one party system. Back in the Civil War era, when there were numerous national and regional parties, there were some advantages that today's two party system deny people.

14. He really is "slow to anger"
Actually, I seem to recall that he came out a couple of years ago in strong opposition to Bush and company.
