A note for those who dogged Bill Clinton for "slow reaction" to ABC

Note the date: September 1.

...is dated August 30. To my knowledge, this is the first comprehensive report on Clinton's work in context with the ABC miniseries. Several blogs had bits and pieces, but this was the first full description (as far as I know).

I got pats on the back for being on top of things when this came out.

Bill swung into action only 48 hours later, eight days ago.

There have been quite a number of posts about Clinton's action/inaction toward the ABC debacle-drama. I wonder if some who have been complaining about his "inaction' have forgot his strategy during impeachment; "Win by Loosing".

Go ahead let ABC and the right wing idiots have their moment in the sun, but use the "movie" as the basis for rehashing Bush and the GOP's even greater inaction pre-9/11. If done right, with a big enough firestorm, then it could take down the whole "GOP is better at keeping you safe" thing that has been used to whack the Dems over the head come election time all these years.

9. Probably took the lawyers 48 hrs to write the letter in legalese

anyway. Bill swung into action probably right away by calling his attorneys. Then the attorneys had to go to a three-hour power lunch to figure out what to do, and then the some law clerk constructed the first draft, and then the paralegal edited the second-draft, and then the lawyers had to discuss it for 24 hours, and then Bill had to review the final draft for a few hours.

These things take time. I used to work for lawyers.
