The left and right wings of the world
Is it me or does it seem that the developed nations are swinging to the right while developing ones are swinging to the left?

1. It's not beyond the US to influence or rig foreign elections
They've been doing it for a long time including here at home.

2. No surprise. Developed nations need...........
to exert more control so that they maintain their power. Therefore move to the right.
Developing nations need to expand and bring the disenfranchised into the system in order to assist in growth and output. Therefore left leaning.

4. A lot of Europe is creeping to the right lately
between Merkel's conservative party winning and Germany, the conservatives in England getting stronger, Austria has a strong conservative wing, it's kinda scary. Particularly since they have seen what so-called conservatives are doing in the US.

5. Europe not necessarily leaning right
Yeah, but Merkel barely won and Schroeder actually had to curry favor to the voters by eschewing bush. I don't think it's a fair assessment to say that Europe is leaning right. They've always had their share of rightwing nutz but nothing like what we see in this country. One big reason is because so many countries in Europe have strong unions.

6. I agree
Europe as a whole is not leaning right, I didn't say it was.

But the cases I mentioned still surprise and worry me
