Suppose bin Laden had been killed during Clinton's administration |
|
Why would that have stopped the attacks? Wasn't there always number 2 man, Al Zarqawi, to step up and continue Al Qaeda? Wasn't it a big deal when he was killed in Iraq recently?
* would have done the same stupid stuff he did during his first 9 months on vacation - er, in office - why would Al Qaeda abandon the attacks just because Osama had died? They would not.
Another thing - point out bin Laden still has not been accounted for. * has had as many years as Clinton to find him.

And moved up to #2, as soon as Al Zarqawi was killed for the umpteenth time.

wasn't even part of al-Qaeda before "shock and awe". He had his own two-bit terror organisation which was protected by the northern no-fly zone (Saddma couldn't get at him.
Zawahiri is the #2 al-Qaeda guy, he's hiding out in Pakistan.

4. OK, but in the 90s somebody must have been the #2 guy |
|
presumably Al Qaeda does not fall apart just because bin Laden dies. Yet that is what this blame-911-on-Clinton position asserts. In which case, why did * say bin Laden was "irrelevant?"

20. So that even if binLaden had been killed during the 90s, the 911 |
|
attack would have been planned.

7. The key to the 9/11 attacks is Cheney, Rumsfeld and other PNACers |
|
They wanted a "new Pearl Harbor", they needed it, they coveted it and, wow, a lucky coincidence had it happen while they were in power.
Bin Laden was simply a tool. If not him, then some other "CIA asset gone wild."

9. They used a combination |
|
of Saudi and Pakistani assets (the 9/11 mastermind was in Pakistan).
"You stage a false flag terror attack with the agents you have, not the agents you'd like to have", to paraphrase Rumsfeld.
That's why they couldn't use Iraqis, because they had no leverage or contacts in Iraq.

14. Exactly, which is what makes their whole blame-Clinton thing |
|
irrelevant. If Al Qaeda is as scary as they say it is, it would survive killing its leader. Regroup as something just as bad. The right wingnuts talk as if killing this one guy would have saved the US from 911, while at the same time claiming Osama is "irrelevant" or whatever stupid thing is was that * recently said about him.

10. The point would be that Clinton was making his people keep an |
|
eye on what was going on ... ObL's gang was unable to operate in the US under Clinton because the US operatives were PAYING ATTENTION!!!
Once Bush got into office, the US operatives were pulled to find missing "W" keys from keyboards and were off sniffing Gary Condit's underwear drawers ...

12. Well, how about the fact that there's still insufficient evidence |
|
... to actually try bin Laden before a court of law?? That's what stuns me. All the rhetoric and still we'd fail to convict if we were to rely on "due process"??? Abominable.

In the Kerry/Bush Debate Bush denied not being concerned with Osama. The next day a video surface with Bush saying the following.
"I don't know where he is.You know, I just don't spend that much time on him... I truly am not that concerned about him."
