13. It was the same crappy chart that they have been showing
and Paul Begala said flatly it was misleading. They (the Russerts and RNC spokespeople of the world ) keep claiming that Dems got Abramhoff "directed" money. Wrong. They are talking about contributions from Indian tribes who were Dem contributors BEFORE they became Abramhoff clients who then still contributed to some Democrats, but in LESSER amounts than they had previously given.

Now, can any right wing talking head just go on some show somewhere and explain it just like that? It's NOT that hard to comprehend. It is NOT a bi-partisan scandal, it is a Republican scandal and soon it will stink and ooze right under the doors of Pennsylvania Avenue no matter high high they pile the sandbags.

3. Paul Begala talking about Abramoff. Now they replayed the Hillary quote
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 10:44 AM by CottonBear
& Carville explaining the quote: context & the Newt quote (re: plantation metaphor) and how the video/audio the clip of Hillary (tjat most MSM didn't show) after explained the context that no dissent allowed in the US Congress today.

Russert using Barak Obama quote re: no Nazi references are OK, Carville is defending Hillary, may not have been the best metaphor but the pointis NO DISSENT ALLOWED.

Matalin saying dissent is allowed in GOP, Hillary is held to higher standards, ....frontrunner....

8. Begala: talking about how Dems "blew it"
"...Our problem is that we are positioned as weak, waffling and weird... (RE: swiftboating)"

"We need to be concerend about moral issues...Barak Obama...resontes w/ downstate IL voters..." "...Probelm is anatomical not ideological..."

Q.to Carville from russsert RE: 9-11

C: Kerry : "...no general unified message....allowing them to define you (is bad)"

14. Begala and Carville need to step outside the Beltway
and understand that you don't mount an opposition by becoming who you are trying to oppose. These two are so nineties. They also don't realize that the playing field is different and out here we are fighting for our very freedom and our lives now. This is not some cutesy tit for tat political sparring match. Our rights and livelihoods are disappearing rapids. They need to get out of the way. Actually, we need to shove them out of the way and send out spokespeople who represent the rank and file of the Democratic party. Arianna Huffington did an excellent job this morning of handling Howie Kurtz.

19. I'm all for shoving them out of the way.
Howard Dean and Arianna Huffington are much better spokesmen for us TRUE BLUE Democrats! These are not the times when we Democrats to be overly polite which is not to say we should be uncivil. There is a distinction.
IMHO Reid shouldn't have apologized the other day. He did not need to. :grr:

15. buzzflash is selling Carville/Begala new bk., don't ask me why

I wouldn't trust either one of them nor plunk down so much as a penny for their bk.

(an aside: as for Tucker Carlson; someone should whip him with his own bow tie for all the lies he tells)

16. Freakshow is right...
I turned it off about 30 seconds into Carville's mumbling. Neither Carville nor Begala have a spine anymore, IMO.

Why don't they say that Dems took money from Abramoff's VICTIMS? That would be easy for the brain-dead viewers to understand.

As an aside: I'm reading a little book titled,"What We Do Now", Dennis Loy Johnson & Valerie Merians, eds. I highly recommend it. pb. $12.00.

Here - on pg 24: "...we liberals cannot answer a goddamn question in less than eight fucking pages. We're too busy thinking about what is true and reasonable to realize we're being robbed."

17. This show is a perfect example of why Dems lose elections.....
they continue to allow lies to languish throughout the conversation. Barak Obama even, still could not muster up the the courage to say no to a direct question as to whether Dems took abramoff money.

Mary Matalin makes a direct comment about 'Dem Abramoff money', and neither Carville nor Begala has a peep to say. Did not ask for any substantiation of any of the direct accusations of Dems taking money from Abramoff, nor offer any of the abundant proof that Dems were not involved and were actually hurt by these illegal and corrupt actions.

Everyone knows that Repubs are lying, and they will continue to do so until they are shown to be liars.

You read blogs and statements by these people and feel so encouraged, but the MSM and Repubs know that all you have to do is put a camera in these guys faces and they will fold and leave erroneous impressions after nearly every interview.

It is so frustrating watching TV anymore.
