Pope fears Bush is antichrist, journalist contends - Church - journalist Wayne Madsden - Brief Article

WASHINGTON DC -- According to freelance journalist Wayne Madsden, "George W Bush's blood lust, his repeated commitment to Christian beliefs and his constant references to 'evil doers,' in the eyes of many devout Catholic leaders, bear all the hallmarks of the one warned about in the Book of Revelations--the anti-Christ."

Madsen, a Washington-based writer and columnist, who often writes for Counterpunch, says that people close to the pope claim that amid these concerns, the pontiff wishes he was younger and in better health to confront the possibility that Bush may represent the person prophesized in Revelations. John Paul II has always believed the world was on the precipice of the final confrontation between Good and Evil as foretold in the New Testament.

4. What, when or where has he done anything Christ-like?
Has he ever been seen NEAR someone below the poverty line? Other than photo-ops has he ever been seen with anyone from the middle class?

5. It is truly amazing how un-Christlike Bush is.
Everything he does seems to violate all that Jesus said, did, and stood for, at least in the Bible I have. Jesus talked at length about the poor. What has the chimp done for the poor? And was it God who told him to invade Iraq? Now there was a holy idea! How many dead so far, George?

To watch as "Christians" slobber all over this horrible man is almost more than I can stand. I'm trying hard not to say that conservative Christians are blind, mindless idiots, but they sure make it hard to believe anything different.

6. Exactly.
I think its a rather ironic twist that the churches have endorsed and pushed him and his agenda. Then again, maybe not. Churches back in Christ's day were just as warped and wrong as they are today.

11. Sometime if you can
try to find the films "God in the White House" and "With God On Our Side." These films show how the republicans use the fundie votes to gain power and to have this public appearance. Bush doesn't give a damn either way about religion or doing anything Jesus said. If he did he wouldn't be where he is today since stealing is a sin to us Christians and he stole the election away from Al Gore in 2000 and from John Kerry as well.

20. That is the whole point of the antiChrist. He is everything
Christ was not and is the herald for the evil to come. Even using that argument, most fundamentalists would welcome the end times so would literally rejoice and bear whatever.

9. I don't think so
He's evil but he's not that evil. He has had past lives where he was evil then too, but he isn't the anti-Christ. The anti-Christ has to fool everyone and Bush hasn't.
