Ralph Reed is GOING DOWN with Ab'hoff's Ship...YAY!
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 11:26 AM by elehhhhna
Evidence is mounting that former Christian Coalition leader Ralph Reed Jr., along with a former leader of the Texas Christian Coalition, may have illegally lobbied Texas state officials on behalf of crooked federal lobbyist Jack Abramoff and his clients...

An Observer investigation reveals that Reed may not have been the only Christian Coalition leader working secretly for Abramoff’s gambling clients. Reed-Abramoff correspondence indicates that Chuck Anderson, then-head of the Texas Christian Coalition, also helped lobby Texas officials on behalf of Abramoff’s Indian gaming clients. Anderson, who now works for Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst, also appears to have worked on Texas gambling issues without registering.

16. More on Ralph Reed and Jack Abramoff from USA Today
http://www.usatoday.com/printedition/news/20060118/a_ralphreed18.art.htm

"What's undisputed is that Reed received several million dollars to help Abramoff shut down a Texas tribe's gambling casino on behalf of tribes with competing casinos. Reed says Abramoff assured him he would not be paid out of the competing tribes' gambling profits."

"But the tribes have few other resources... ...the ultimate source of his fees appear to have been casino revenue. “The amounts are so huge, there's no other explanation,” says Craig McDonald, director of Texans for Public Justice."

"McDonald's group and two others allege that Reed broke Texas law by not registering as a lobbyist there..."

"Reed and Abramoff met more than 20 years ago and were so close that Reed introduced Abramoff to the woman who became his wife. More recently, Abramoff helped Reed get lobbying work, donated to his successful 2001 campaign for Georgia GOP chairman and took him golfing in Scotland with a congressman."

When Reed spoke to a group of "Christian teens" he spoke of his work to prevent competition for the Indian casinos that had given him money: "We will never know how many marriages and lives were saved, or how many children were spared the consequences of compulsive gambling, because of our work” to shut down casinos..."

HA HA. Good one Ralph. Now tell them how you plan to fight against Walmart. By closing down all the K-Marts?

27. Ralph may be in trouble for more than just this. He was Abramoff's
go-to guy to get his requests to Karl Rove. Susan Ralston, formerly Abramoff's assistant, and according to some sources, also a previous Ralph Reed assistant, was recommeded to Rove, by Abramoff when they took over the WH.

When Abramoff wanted the WH (or Rove) to help with some legislation or other, he would contact his old college friend, Ralph and ask him to get in touch with Rove. According to the emails between them, Ralph was always obliging.

It seems Ralph would contact Susan, Rove's assistant by then. Susan was required to ask Norquist who she should and should not put through to Karl.

I'm hoping, (keeping everything crossed) that the Abramoff affairs will ensnare Karl. Karl, I think, has denied ever doing anything for Abramoff. Susan, it was reported recently (who appeared four times before Fitzgerald's Grand Jury) was moved from her position as Karl's assistant to 'another part of the WH', although not too far from Rove. However, it seems she is now no longer in the WH.

Gee, why would she need to be removed from Karl? Don't they still believe in the old adage 'if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to worry about?' ~

Many of the sweatshop workers in the Mariana Islands came from the Philipines. Susan is Philipino ~ wonder if she knew what Abramoff was doing in the Mariana Islands?

30. Time to resurrect the old Don Henley song..."Little Tin God"
off his "End of the Innocence" album.

"But, from little dark motel rooms
To six flags over jesus
How are the mighty fallen
So the Bible said"

Henley is referring to: "How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished!" - 2 Samuel, 1:27

Originally this song was written about Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Swaggart, Jim and Tammy Faye Baker, etc. back in the Eighties but it still works today.. Bush is the new cowboy named "Jingo"..

"Little Tin God"

A new age is dawning
On fewer than expected
Business is usual
That’s how the headline read
Some shaky modern saviors
Have now been resurrected
In all this excitement
You may have been misled
People want a miracle
They say oh lord, can’t you see us?
We’re tryin’ to make a livin’ down here
And keep the children fed
But, from little dark motel rooms
To six flags over jesus
How are the mighty fallen
So the Bible said
You don’t have to pray to a little tin god
Step out of the way for a little tin god
You might fear the reaper, you might fear the rod
But you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
No, you never have to get down on your knees
For a little tin god
The cowboy’s name was jingo
And he knew that there was trouble
So in a blaze of glory
He rode out of the west
No one was ever certain
What it was that he was sayin’
But they loved it when he told them
They were better than the rest
But you don’t have to pray for a little tin god
Step out of the way for a little tin god
You might hate to system, hate the job
But you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
No, you never have to get down on your knees
For a little tin god
Throw down a rope from heaven
And lead the flock to water
The man in the middle would have you think
That you have no other choice
But to wander in the wilderness
Of all the upturned faces
If you stop and listen long enough
You will hear your own small voice
But you don’t have to pray to a little tin god
Step out of the way for a little tin god
You might fear the reaper, fear the rod
But you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
No, you never have to get down on your knees
You don’t have to holler, please, please
You never have to get down on your knees
For a little tin god

37. Your welcome...
I'm a long time Eagles and Don Henley fan..

I went to see them play in Providence RI at the Dunkin Donuts Center last year and saw Henley separately here in Orlando (Kissimmee) about 6 weeks later. I saw them play in 94 also. Well worth the money.

Henley does NOT like Bush from what he said in these concerts. He changed the words of one of his songs from "this tired old man that we elected king", a reference to Reagan, to "this brash young man that we elected king".
