Having visited Anne Frank Haus -- it's only a few miles from the place my Grandfather was born--it is the most moving memorial--representing all the good and bad in humanity--

Unexpectedly finding her name in a post about Nazi-style BushCabal propaganda...is both startling and nauseating.

I just watched documentaries a month or so ago, about poor Anne. How could they, so soon after the anniversary of her death... :(

make the pilgrimage to her home. Unlike our memorial buildings, it is mostly intact -- the bookcase/door, the pinup photos of American movie stars above her bed...the pencil marks on the wall marking how tall the children were growing while in hiding there...

But: don't go alone, on a rainy day, while missing your young daughters, & sans kleenex. Trust me.

I couldn't believe it. I turned on CNN today and they were doing their "flashbacks" to this day five years ago. I hope someone sues them for triggering their ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder). I will never understand the desire in this country to celebrate the anniversaries of death and destruction. :( It just seems morbid.

I think memorial services are a lovely way to honor those that died, and a way for their loved ones to celebrate their lives and mourn their loss. But what our media does is disturbing to me.
