I'm close to tears, waking up to Bush and Rove's hijacking of 9/11
I spent most of my life living in Manhattan. I knew some of those who died that day. That their memory is now obscured, in the public eye, by the face of George Bush makes my blood boil, and plunges me into deep sadness.

I've kept a quotation from a New York Times editorial of 9/11/03:

"Those buildings did not fall or their occupants die to become symbols in an incoherent argument. That outpouring of strength and consideration was never meant to serve as the pretext of false conclusions. The day will slip away from us as time passes, but not the clarity of the actions we took together in response. The purest patriotism we have in us to express was expressed in the common generosity of that moment."

Rest in peace, you who perished on that sunny day. In hearts, you are not forgotten.

4. I understand your sorrow, but
I didn't expect them to do anything else. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior, and they are so predictable.

5. amen-I come from a family with many members of NY FD
My uncle was a battalion chief who had retired before 9/11. I find it disgusting that these Americans, not republicans or Democrats, who acted with such grace and strength during those dark days have their graves despoiled by the GOP. The Americans who died that were real people not political pawns.

12. Amen, brother. I feel your pain.
The first responders were neither republicans nor Democrats, but Americans doing their jobs and doing it very well under the worst of circumstances.

They have been kidnapped by the * administration to further their political and monetary goals. It's absolutely disgusting. To make matters worse, their health care needs are being totally ignored.

Totally disgusting!

really been an incredible tipping point for me, after I already thought I'd been tipped long time ago. Their depth of arrogance never ceases to amaze me. But they've really done it now. I'm even more dedicated to trying to get these bastards out of office. The audacity for them to use 911 as a political tool to do whatever they damn well please is just evil. It really, really saddens me. I will spend 911 in prayer and not watching some propaganda piece.

17. Remember, remember, that day in September
Not for what the Bush** administration would make of it, but for the sake of the victims and the sanctity of truth that Bush** has blasphemed ever since.

18. DeepModem Mom...
just wanted to offer you this.:pals:

I'm SO sorry this atrocity is airing and about how it's affecting you. The fact that they are ignoring those who lost loved ones in the tragedy speaks volumes to me.

If it's any consolation to you, tomorrow dh and I will be contacting our travel agent with strict instructions to contact Disney and tell them exactly WHY we are cancelling our vacation to WDW.
