4. This explains why the shut the WTC PATH station down for two hours...
...can't have trainloads of people showing up when the Holy Motorcade comes through (though that's a general complaint about presidential security in NYC -- it applied to Clinton too).

2. All of the "news" stations running the same crap...
waiting for the chimp to lay a wreath at ground zero. I must say the Bush Administration has done a masterful job at dragging all of this horseshite out as much as possible. It will be nothing but 9/11 demagoguery for the next 24-48 hours.

3. Actually, there was a bit of suspense there, if you knew to look.

St. Paul's Chapel has a presidential box -- it's where George Washington went to church during the early years before D.C. existed and New York served as the captial city. However, Washington's box is off on the side of the church, not up in front of everybody.

So the question was: would W go for "in the footsteps of Washington" (even if it was less about striding in his footsteps than warming the same bench with his butt. Think he could have resisted cutting a fart on "George W.'s" private pew?)? Or would or would he go for "an important fellow like me ought to sit right up front".

Guess the presidential pew would require too much explanation. He went for "I get front row".

12. Here's more perspective...
St. Paul's Chapel has a graveyard on its premises with many Revolutionary War veterans. I might be mistaken, but I think the two veterans buried the closest to ground zero (right across the street) were Frenchmen. (and if they're not the two closest, they're definitely two of the closest five vets.)

I'm sure *'s beautiful mind is free of that small fact.

16. His mind is absent of anything that matters, but to hear him tell it he
knows just about everything there is to know. Those facts are very interesting. Frenchman egh?

9. Watch football instead
;)

I canceled the plus pkg of cable so I'm down to the basics (networks and CSPAN) but added the HD pkg so I get ESPN HD and HDNet (actually has some decent news documentaries at times) and HDNet Movies.

Got sick of the same crap on CNN, MSNBC, etc. The Daily Show and the Colbert Report are better commentary on today's news than anything on the "news" channels.

10. I cannot believe the anger that this is invoking on me
How dare he be there. How dare he throw reefs into the pools. How dare he sit on the pews that the first responders slept. How dare he and his wife pretend to be so solemn in their grief.

I will never forget the 11th of September.

We own a construction company and were working at the Palm Beach Airport on Sept. 11th, 2001. My son called me to tell me that they were being shut down immediately with no explanation, he wanted to know "What the fuck is going on?. I gave him the information that I knew at the time, two planes had flown into the World Trade Centers, 1 and 2. I remember telling him to pack up and that either "they did this" or "heads are going to roll".

Since heads didn't roll, I was left with only one other choice.

I am so damn angry right now, I could bash my tv into pieces and I am a very peaceful person. But I am so damn mad. Thanks for letting me vent. I am so damn mad.
