I am positive that the plane that went down in Queens, NY in November 2001 was some kind of shoe-bomb a la Richard Reid. I am just positive.

I have a real problem following this story. I hope people don't turn it off.

I have been screaming this out ever since that farce of a commission issued the report. I will say that there are some gems in the report.

Still, President Bush's administration did the best they could. The cabinet was not totally in place at the time. What can they do only 7-8 months into the administration. They had to operate in the blind in my opinion.

Also, the american people are also responsible for keeping their heads in the sand as well. Clinton would have had every american on his side if he did the right thing in 93.

Uh, irony alert!!!

Interesting Lines here in the Manila Disco...

"we have sent a message to the Americans, their policies will get them in trouble, once they realize that, then they will change those policies..."

So, back in 1993, UNDER THE KLINTOON admin, the policies of the USA were CAUSING TERRORISM???

I thought that was ONLY the BUSH admin that created Terrorists???

Decadant MOOSLIMS partaking of the Disco Flesh...That's gonna steam p the Muzzies..

Yet another irony alert. Well, more like complete and utter ignorance. The 1993 attack was planned while Poppy Bush was in office!

I need to take some Dramamine. The camera work is making me seasick.

"They should have spent the extra $50.00 and used the image stabilized handheld cameras."
"They were going for that "Saving Private Ryan" and "Band of Brothers" effect."

Sorry, I can't watch anymore. Childish panning and blurring. No scene more than ten seconds. This is a show on drugs. It doesn't make any difference what the content is, the pitiful directing and filming has destroyed it's value to anyone whose brain works in longer than 10 second "video game" spans.
All I have got from this production is a headache. Too bad.
Maybe grownups will make a real movie about 911 some day.
OTOH I hear there's a good football game on.

went towards getting ABC to air the thing at all, and without commercials.

15. LMAO!! The Freepers are now quoting from this thread!

What rejects!

One of them wants to know what Clinton did after the 1993 WTC attacks. Apparently he/she/it forgot about the capture, trial, and conviction of those involved. Not to mention many other things done under the Clinton administration to combat terrorism and the attempts by Berger, Clark, etc. to transfer the immediacy of going after Al Qaeda to the incoming Bush administration.

29. It was my understanding that 9/11 was ten years in the planning.
Sorry, I don't have a link, but that's how Osama operates. He's very deliberate. 9/11 was a major, major job, very complex, required great deliberation.

But in the end, it really doesn't matter how long it was planned. What matters is that Osama waited until an incompetent was in the White House, someone that he knew was itching for an excuse to invade Iraq. Remember, the letter to Clinton on invading Iraq was signed by the neocons, and Osama knew the neocons were tied to bush. Osama knew Afghanistan would be invaded first, for show, but he knew bush and the neocons would not stop there.

Yes, 9/11 happened on bush's watch because Osama knew that's how he would get everything he wanted, because bush and the neocons are transparent as glass, and as predictable as the sun rising in the east. As politically unaware as I was back in 2000, even I knew when bush got selected that war was coming, and I've read several posts by DU'ers who were certain that Iraq was on the war agenda when bush was selected.

Yes, Osama planned for a long time for the right person to be in the White House before he made the major attack. The right person wasn't Clinton. It was bush. Five years later, bush and the neocons just keep on giving Osama exactly what he wants.

30. And the incoming Bush administration
ordering the strike force tracking OBL's movements to stand down, dismantling the "Able Danger" military intelligence program that was studying al-Qaeda's global network, and refusing to implement the freeze on terrorist finances that had already been worked out with the UN and EU before Bush came into office. And they did all that in the first two months in office! It's like they were DELIBERATELY helping al-Qaeda.

31. Clinton had zero terrorist attacks
on US soil from 1993 to 2000, and without choking our civil liberties to death in the process. We need to put up a counter somewhere that shows how many more days that Clinton kept us terror-free than B*** has and along with that list all the liberties we had then that we don't have now. Maybe BradBlog could do that?

34. OBVIOUSLY the clock
for Clinton starts from 26 Feb 1993, only 37 days after he took office. Bush was in office for 7 1/2 MONTHS when the WTC was destroyed. And NO, because the actions of a disgruntled American aren't what's being compared here.

Hey slackmaster, way to support the dems, once again. :sarcasm:

35. You're denying that Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist?
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 04:45 PM by slackmaster

And NO, because the actions of a disgruntled American aren't what's being compared here.

I don't see anything in the discussion that eliminates McVeigh as a terrorist. The OKC bombing counts. Conspiracy, planning, political motivation, attack on civilians, mass casualties, dead children, the whole nine yards.

Are you suggesting that McVeigh acted alone?

Hey slackmaster, way to support the dems, once again.

I disagree with your statement that there were no terrorist attacks on the US during the Clinton administration, therefore I don't support Democrats? I'd call that a False Dilemma fallacy, pal.

:dunce:

ETA I'll tell you what I really think, JimDandy: You FORGOT about the OKC bombing, I called you on it, and you can't or won't admit your ERROR.
