Say, didn't it only take 4 years to defeat Hitler, Hirohito and Mussolini? |
|
This has been mentioned before.... So, what's the problem?

we were in Germany, Italy, and definitely Japan a lot longer than 4 years. That's not to say * didn't F the whole thing up, though. After the occupation in those countries, we left stable governments on our way out. That's not going to happen in Iraq.

3. Well, we were actually FIGHTING THEM, for starters. |
|
If we had entered WWII "B*sh-Style", with a massive invasion of Mexico, it would have taken much longer.

5. Excellent Military Analogy! |

That's a good laugh -- attack Germany and Japan by invading Mexico. "The Germans are in Mexico! Some of them have had contact with the PRI!" About on a par with the horse manure Bushco fed us before the Iraq invasion.
Funny and very accurate connection, and a good joke. My compliments.

When Hitler launched the Blitzkrieg on Poland. He'd already helped Franco defeat the Republican forces in Spain, in 1937-1938. He'd held power since 1934, and started oppressing the Jews, gypsies, handicapped and homosexuals shortly thereafter.
So it really took from 1934 until 1945 to defeat Hitler. And then there was a 10-year occupation.
The Japanese invaded Mongolia and turned it into a puppet state in (I'm not sure of the date) 1936, and bombed Shanghai in the late 1930's, before invading and occupying large parts of China.
So it really tood from about 1935 until 1945 to defeat Japanese militarism. With a 10-year occupation thereafter also.
So strictly speaking, five years is nothing. On the other hand, Bushco would just as soon it took 20 years, with Georgie and Jebbie holding power until it was all over over there.
Disgusting opportunists, ain't they?

6. yes, and imagine what the U.S. and its allies accomplished.. |
|
... they had driven the forces of Facism -- the REAL facism -- out of North Africa and the Middle East, most of Europe, from France to MOscow, driven them from the tiny islands in the south Pacific and all across southeast Asia. the worst of the bad guys were dead or headed for trial. Then the U.S. actually started to rebuild the ruined nations.
What do we have to show for BUSH's four-year war?

7. US Civil War Over Too in Four Years |
|
Yes, and that was REALLY FOUGHT also. The whole bit was over, everything from Sumter to Johnston's surrender. I'll even throw in the surrender of the Tran-Mississippi CSA which took a little longer. I will even include the commerce raiders like the CSS Shenandoah which roamed a few more months. OVER. And here these imbeciles are muddling along with their collection of fiascos we can never win in 100 YEARS.
