Whatever the reasons Bush gave for invading Iraq, from regime change to WMD's, it was all based on overthrowing the government there and replacing it with an authority that would be compliant to US interests. Mission accomplished.

Now, any and all military action by our soldiers in Iraq amounts to warring on the people of Iraq. We have our compliant authority in place. We have their resources in pocket. Our soldiers have become mercenaries on one side of a civil war in a supposedly sovereign nation. With their 'anti-insurgent' raids they are defending a ruling party that we installed by coup and now expect that we own.

Firing Hellfire missiles into the sovereign nation of Pakistan is an act of war, but not on the Musharraf government, on the innocent men, women, and children who were slaughtered in the attack by our remote-controlled predator drone.

The US is an immature bully with Bush at the head, angling for a fight, knocking down the innocent onlookers as we flail around with our eyes closed.

1. I've considered us a bully, since Bush* was installed. But
"immature bully" really captures it! I've just had the feeling that our military is for the exclusive use of our corporate wants. Actually, more for the use of big oil. Cheney figured: we've got this massive military just sitting around losing its edge, I'll use it.

I think you're right on!

The people of Iraq and Pakistan are pawns in bu$h little war on the middle class and poor in America.

4. right on
Bush's war and the 'bin-Laden's', which serve to elevate them and give their self-appointed lordships any relevance at all.

Good read here from me.

Another.

6. # Canada's Stephen Harper: cold policy wonk to smiling PM in waiting

He's a corporatist bigot like Bush, not popular with the anti-American factions which would be aggravated by the war. It would be interesting and worrisome if opposition to the ruling party's support of the Iraq invasion forces out the lesser of the two evils.
