Why has there not been another attack?
Edited on Mon Sep-11-06 08:40 AM by BleedingHeartPatriot
Because everything that Al Qaeda and their sponsor, Saudi Arabia, wanted to accomplish was accomplished.

Civil liberties for Americans. Gone. (I guess they don't hate us for our freedoms, anymore)

America's military resources poured into eliminating one of the Saudis'(and Al Quaeda's) adversaries. Done.

America's military resources exhausted. Done.

American troops in a quagmire and easy targets in the Mid East. Done.

America's standing as a credible super power. Destroyed.

America's economic strength. Destroyed.

American leaders on record as hostile to Islam, giving terrorist organizations a surefire recruiting tool. Done.

American citizenry scared, cowed, demoralized and easily manipulated...Done, done, done.

gwb has performed far above and beyond Al Quaeda's (and the Saudis') hopes for the destruction of our country. Everything he and his cabal has done insures that those unique things which made this country a powerful presence in the international community have been eliminated.

Why no attack? The cabal is doing just fine handling the destruction of the USA on its own. MKJ

(edit to add: this is a response to the MSM/RW rhetorical question which always ignores the anthrax attacks, Bali, Jordan, Madrid, London, etc, etc)

17. Our military bases in Saudi Arabia are CLOSED
"Chicago Tribune April 30, 2003

Military to leave Saudi Arabia
U.S. moving amid strained relations

In-Depth Coverage By Stephen J. Hedges

Marking the end of an era, the United States will soon withdraw about 7,000 U.S. military personnel from Saudi Arabia and terminate a significant military presence there that lasted more than a decade, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced Tuesday.

Appearing at a press conference in Riyadh with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan bin Abdul-Aziz, Rumsfeld said the Pentagon was ordering the redeployment, which involves mostly members of the U.S. Air Force, because there no longer is a threat from deposed Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. The changes are to take place this summer."

"Goodbye, Prince Sultan: Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia ends a chapter, but not mission, in Middle East history

Airman, Oct, 2003 by A.J. Bosker
At its height, Prince Sultan Air Base held more than 10,000 airmen and 200 aircraft during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Now, with no more U.N. resolutions to enforce or a southern no-fly zone to patrol, airmen and aircraft have left Prince Sultan's dusty roads."

Mission Accomplished, but it was Bin Laden's mission that was accomplished.

24. That Is, And Not Support For Israel, Bin Laden's Stated Goal
And he got EXACTLY what he wanted. While he has made statements about Israel, the U.S. support for it, and the Palestinian conflict, the fatwa issued in 1994 was specifically about bases in his holy land.

He got exactly what he wanted, but of course, we don't negotiate with terrorists. We don't negotiate, the Bush Mob just capitulates. No negotiation necessary.

During the Clinton years we went over 7 1/2 years without an attack by foreign terrorists on the US mainland.

The cabal has made the baseline expectation, "we're going to be attacked again, any minute!"

25. And The Radical Right Would Have Us Believe That. . .
. . .either:
a) Clinton did nothing, or;
b) Clinton treated it like a police matter and that was completely wrong!

So, apparently one can do nothing, or completely the wrong thing, and get 7.5 years between attacks, but that means nothing. Now we go 5 years, (not counting anthrax mailings), and that is a sign of success.

Duh!

10. Not To Split Hairs, There Are On Going Successful Attacks ...
Service personnel around the world are being attacked 24/7 !

The USA has been attacked by terrorist using anthrax as well as other weapons. When one buys the RNC talking points of 'total war on terror' then buy the whole packet!

Do not be selective and do not allow RNC to pick the terms of engagement!

obsession with both the WTC and airplanes, would be better spent targeting vulnerable maritime and industrial/chemical facilities.

If a massive blackout affecting millions or people can be caused by a squirrel dancing on a transformer what is to stop someone from driving a truck into a sub-station?

Plenty of potential targets out there.

Nor am I cheerleading for Al Queda. I am merely dissatisfied in a certain detached academic sense in the competence of their mission.

Its really no different than saying Bush made mistake X which cost him Y points in the polls. If I were him I would have done Z.

If all threads were censored to a black and white standard then 99% of the Israel/Hezbollah threads would be locked when clearly there is some degree of grey in that conversation.

29. I can usually disengage a bit and be a little more clinical in my
assessments of events, better than that.

If the cabal wasn't in power when this happened, the collective will of the American people could have been leveraged to make this country more energy efficient, our law enforcement more effective and our international standing more credible.

That would have been their mistake. Sadly, it was not to be. MKJ

for the barons and themselves:

$$$$$$ and excuses - excuses to take away our rights for improved control over us.

But it is not perfect enough yet - the control and the idea that they must transfer the wealth from the middle class to them.

We must still worry because the vote theft spotlight is finally starting to shine on them and if they can't steal votes, they must stay in power some way - to gain total control and a submissive 'line without end' of young bodies to fight the other wars to come - wars for the earth resources and to maintain control and build and secure those pipelines, ship routes, prisons. They must silence our legislators and alternate media outlets. They must rewrite more laws and plant more judges.

When you do not have an army you do things like this. It counts more than a big battle. You are never sure when it will happen or how big or small. They have been doing this to countries for years.
