Even on my favorite sports radio station... |
|
I am so disgusted...I am sitting here this morning listening to WEEI on my computer and Dennis and Callahan are discussing that fraud of a movie like it was a fact and really blaming it all on Clinton

1. Your local sports show was NOT discussing "Manning vs. Manning" or |
|
the impending "T.O. vs. Tuna" game? Not even discussing the results of the opening weekend of 2006 NFL football? Just talking about Path to 9/11?
Wow.

4. WEEI is excruciatingly provincial to begin with. |
|
If there's nothing of note in Boston sports, then the drive time shows act as if nothing happened in the entire world of sports.
The midday show, Dale & Holley, is considerably better at taking a national view of the sports scene. They're intelligent, entertaining, and they don't talk politics, like the other shows on the station.
At this point, they're the only WEEI show I listen to anymore.

2. You do realize that Dennis & Callahan are both strident right-wingers? |
|
Dennis has more of a libertarian streak and has been known to disagree from time to time on Iraq policy.
But Callahan? He's a kool-aid drinker and an avowed ultra right-wing Republican, slightly more conservative than Ann Coulter. He does his best to disseminate the talking point of the day.
Do what I did about 2 years ago... TURN THEM OFF. The little morsels of sports talk don't make up for the unending stream of hate that pours out of their program.
I've been listening to Mike & Mike on ESPN 890... but with The Mouse declaring war on the Clinton administration, I've turned them off, too.
That leaves Sporting News AM 1510. Not bad, although not local. Give it a try.

5. I Think You Don't Listen To The Correct Stations |
|
In Chicago, you have three shows on WMVP that have hosts that REGULARLY castigate and ridicule Silverspoon. On WSCR, you have one idiot in the mornning who thinks he's a conservative (he's really just a twit who thinks he's a republican, even though he's friends with the mayor), but the midday, afternoon drive, and evening guys ALL use drop-ins of Bush fumbling with speech, sounding like an idiot, and regular make fun of him.
That's over half the air time for sports radio in the 3rd biggest market that are not wrapped in the flag, but rather are taking fairly strong anti-administration positions. The Professor

Although both of these stations stream, if you're interested. My sig line is a "catchphrase" synopsis of something i heard on one of these stations one very early morning. That should tell you something about the on-air folks.
