Is it just me or is there much more 9-11 hype this year???? |
|
My impression may be quite skewed b/c this is the first 'anniversary' I've spent any time watching TV.

1. It's a BIG election year. Control of the House & Senate are |
|
at stake.
And 911/terra is all they've got.

16. GOP wants desperately |
|
for the election to be about 9/11 and terror and not the disasterous invasion and occupation of Iraq.

3. Election year. If the Dow had doubled or something, you wouldn't be |
|
hearing much about 9/11. But I guess you pimp whatever you can.

4. election coming up, manipulate emotions to over-ride rational thought |
|
"OMG! That was HORRIBLE!" far over-rides "why should I vote to keep these bozos in power?"

6. more hype, and it is terrible to keep on reshowing the planes |
|
hitting those buildings, the media is just propagandizing the horrific details of that terrible day. I feel for those families that lost family/loved ones. And just think bush will be on tonite, rubbing more salt into the wounds of so many, and promoting his WAR ON TERROR, sickening stupid man. I will not be watching.

Hell, last year you couldn't turn around without having 911 fearmongering shoved down your throat. Good thing it wasn't like an election year or the republics might have kept congress locked up with all the fuss they stirred up.

There was about the same coverage in 2002 (the first anniversary). Since this is a milestone year, there's more coverage.
Oh yeah and that election thingy coming up.

18. It's the Fifth Anniversary, so yes. Expect more on the 10th, 15th and 20th |
|
too...until this fades away.
There's still some attention paid to the passing of JFK 40+ years ago.
The election is why Bush is paying more attention, though. Hell, he's visited more places today than he did on 9/11, and got to them faster than he got to N.O. last year for the Katrina aftermath. Bastard.
