POLL: More Americans blame Bush for failing to prevent 9/11

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The percentage of Americans who blame the Bush administration for the September 11, 2001, attacks on New York and Washington has risen from almost a third to almost half over the past four years, a CNN poll released Monday found.

Asked whether they blame the Bush administration for the attacks, 45 percent said either a "great deal" or a "moderate amount," up from 32 percent in a June 2002 CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll.

Bush's top terrorism advisor implored Bush to pay attention to the threat from al Qaeda but said he did not take terrorism seriously and "ignored terrorism."

Clarke also tells CBS News Correspondent Lesley Stahl that White House officials were tepid in their response when he urged them months before Sept. 11 to meet to discuss what he saw as a severe threat from al Qaeda.

"Frankly," he said, "I find it outrageous that the president is running for re-election on the grounds that he's done such great things about terrorism. He ignored it. He ignored terrorism for months, when maybe we could have done something to stop 9/11. Maybe. We'll never know."

1. either Bush succeeded in preventing the 9/11 attacks
and we're all living in a dream inside a computer - let's call it a "Matrix," or Bush failed to prevent the 9-11 attacks and we need a detailed, factual and most of all transparent, un-redacted account of HOW he failed to prevent the attacks.

3. CushCo & Republicons LIHOP
They LIHOP.

Freakin traitors.

Then they lied and lied and lied.

More and more Americans see the lies plainly now.

4. If Clinton had been in office and followed the executive decisions of Bus
I'd hold him liable for dereliction of duty. Bush took subs off patrol in the Persian Gulf....one of his very 1st acts. They also took down the Predator survellience RC's...why? Why did he disregard all the warnings and why did he tell the CIA briefing analyst on 8/6, "OK, you've read me the report and covered your ass"? Why we some people in his administration given a "heads up" (Asscroft and his change to private jets) while not mentioning the gathering threat of an Al Qaeda attack?

Say what you will, the 9/11 Commission Report is as flawed and dangerous to our American Democracy as the Path to 9/11. They didn't want to investigate the actions of this administration and neither will the Republican majority....they've been actively party to the cover-up and the general criminalization of ththe Executive Branch.
