I Just Saw "Fun With Dick And Jane", Jim Carey Version |

and it was a little too close to home. The first credits are given to Ken Lay, Skilling, Arthur Anderson, Enron, WorldCom, etc., etc.
Jim Carey was his usual manic self, with a little of the Cable Guy thrown in. This version is as good as the original with Jane Fonda, but brought up to current events. And the beat goes on....

1. Lots of anti-corporate elements, definitely. |

It was better than I was expecting it to be, for that precise reason. I have to admit, I wondered if it was a dig at W's "now watch this drive" bit when Alec Baldwin was golfing while being interviewed by reporters...he went on about how sorry he was for the people who had been hurt by the company's collapse...then proceeded to say something like "now watch this shot."
One of the friends I went with (who's also a liberal) caught it, too. We kind of glanced at each other and snickered.

2. I was less than impressed. The humor was a bit forced, Jim Carey too |
|
goofy. But it had its moments, such as the last bank heist.
I haven't seen the Jane Fonda version, so I can't compare.
