The larger P2911 strategy: further sully the Clinton brand before 06-08
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 07:04 AM by Atman
How many are still convinced that Hillary is poison in 2008? Oh, she'll be our candidate. We'll have nothing to say about. She'll be chosen by the King Makers in DC and the media to run against their other hand-picked challenger, John McCain (maybe). And that is why this vile bullshit is spewing forth on our airwaves. Bill Clinton's presidency is lookin' pretty sweet about now, six years into Bush warring, whoring and boring us in some cases literally to death. They can't have that. They have to remind America (read: the right wing) why they all are supposed to hate the Clintons so much.

Hillary's husband caused the deaths of 3000 Americans! And we want to elect her president? I am convinved it is at least part of their strategy, and a fairly significant part of it.

Anyone else? It's been a while since I've seen one of these, but I'm gonna ask it again after the P2911 docuganda -- Is Hillary Clinton electable? I only see this "film" making matters worse.

1. All the more reason to pick someone else as the nominee
Not that I want her as the nominee in the first place.
Too much royalty in this country.

2. I don't think they planned it against a Hillary run - the books this movie
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 07:13 AM by blm
was based on were clearly written between 2001 and 2004 to influence the perception of who deserved the blame.

The inside GOPs know for damn certain they shoulder most of the blame, and especially Bush WH. The only person they COULD blame and get the media to help do it was Clinton.

This was about ALL future elections after 9-11, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008.

Here's a list of some titles I found.

DERELICTION OF DUTY, by Robert “Buzz” Patterson. (Regnery Publishing, 2003) A top Clinton military aide’s “eyewitness” account of how Bill Clinton compromised America’s national security.

BETRAYAL, by Bill Gertz. (Regnery Publishing, 1999) The Washington Times defense reporter explains “how the Clinton administration undermined American security.”

BREAKDOWN, by Bill Gertz. (Regnery Publishing, 2002) A reporter for the Washington Times describes how “America’s intelligence failures led to 9/11.”

USEFUL IDIOTS, by Mona Charen. (Regnery Publishing, 2003) The columnist and television commentator goes on the attack against liberals who “got it wrong in the cold war and still blame America first.”

THE POLITICALLY INCORRECT GUIDE TO AMERICAN HISTORY, by Thomas Woods. (Regnery Publishing, 2004) A conservative interpretation.

SHADOW WAR, by Richard Miniter. (Regnery Publishing, 2004) The author argues that President Bush is winning the war on terror.

LOSING BIN LADEN, by Richard Miniter. (Regnery Publishing, 2003) How—on multiple occasions—Bill Clinton allowed bin Laden to slip through his fingers.

FIGHTING BACK, by Bill Sammon. (Regnery Publishing, 2002) A reporter for The Washington Times recounts the White House’s actions in response to 9/11.

3. I wouldn't be surprised
The repuke media is pushing her while at the same time the 911 debaucle is being hung on Bill.
I didn't see much of the show, but the part I saw had GFY cheney getting real "busy" and holding back tears.

The other thing I noted was Condi wild eyed and they showed Richard Clark as all wild eyed as well(almost to the point of nutcase. :silly:
All of this in 2 minutes of viewing. :puke:

4. They are trying to set up this election so that this
inept bunch of Mickey Mouse Republic candidates/incumbents can run against Bill Clinton and avoid running on *'s war and policy debacles that they supported. This is why this came out 2 months before an election. Plain and simple.

6. Exactly - they did it in 2002 and 2004, too. The "Dems are weak on terror"
meme was started days after 9-11 and was directly targeted at Clinton as a failed commander-in-chief who's negligence caused 9-11 to happen.

They got away with it for 5yrs because the media popularized the notion as an accepted truism and Clinton never actively countered the charges leveled at him in any of the many books blaming him that the ABC movie was based on.

5. Why does the RW GOP fear Hillary and think she'll be elected? Why
do they feel the need to smear the Clinton name before 08?

7. Because they're going to force us to choose her or McCain
Remember, The People have very little real say in this, especially under BushCo's "Help Republicans Steal The Vote" Act. Out of one side of their mouths, they're going to tell us for whom we must vote. Out of the other side, they're telling us why we must hate this same candidate. It is very cunning theater.

8. wrong -- this is about creating a permanent republican majority
and moulding a population that they want.

it's been going on since the 70's with the founding of the Heritage Foundation -- in conjunction with paul weyrich and william f. buckley.

it gathered steam with grover norquist and the anti-tax republican who began to coin phrases like ''welfare queen''.

it reached a kind of apex with reagan -- his beatification and the collapse of the democtaic patiy's reponse to republican attacks.

this is a war about history -- this is a war about facts -- this is a war about truth.
