We actively avoided all the TV hooplah yesterday |
|
even made sure we had one of the pay movie channels on so we wouldn't have to see *...
So at around 8:30 (Central time) our 6 year old daughter comes in and says - Guess what's on PBS? What, we ask Lies, by Geoge W Bush
Sure enough, PBS had been preempted for the blivet :grr:
Gotta love the kid!

2. My avoidance was purely passive. Had better things to do. |

It wasn't easy. I didn't like spending my birthday on the same old rehashing of the tragedy as a sort of neo-con high holiday.
Everytime I flipped the channel I saw a "Where were you?"
I responded that the more important is the "Where are we now?"
We should be getting over it and carrying on. Remembering that the tragedies of the past do not vindicate the mistakes of the future.

I avoided any program about 9/11. Watched a DVD (Stargate) instead. Then I watched some Animal Planet.

plus I had radio on one of the jazz stations. I wanted to listen to some sports radio, for some NFL analysis, but once they started on that 9-11 stuff, I turned the channel, I saw the Minnesota-Washington game kind've late so I did not see the "Triumph Of The Will" moment, at the beginning of the game.
