Give me truth or give me death !
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 10:02 AM by kentuck
Just as early patriot (Patrick Henry I believe?) said "give me liberty or give me death", many Americans are now dying to be told the truth. The lies have become like a disease spread throughout our bodies. Just Sunday, VP Dick Cheney was on MTP with Tim Russert and Russert pointed out all the lies one by one that he had told and he didn't even wince. So what! Seemed to be his response.

But the American people are craving the truth. Even as this Administration holds the truth as something only they are entitled to and they must lie so no one else gets access to it. No matter the issue, lie about it. We recall how Cheney lied about the energy task force in early 2001. It went to the Supreme Court and we still don't know the truth.

Withholding the truth from the people is in itself a terrorist act. It propagates fear and paranoia. And they do it to justify their illegal war and to maintain political power. These are the most despicable people.

1. But don't give me too much truth, because then I'll post something...
that will embarrass DU and make us all sound like conspiracy nuts.

2. Truer words have rarely been spoken.
That's exactly what we're missing: the truth, and behind that, things like Honesty, Integrity and Ethics.

In the words of another of our Founding Fathers, Thomas Paine, "These are the times that try men's souls".

Until some Honesty (and Truth) is restored to the public debate, we're in for some very trying times.
