Rasmussen says Bush got only a 3 point jump from last night
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 10:42 AM by ECH1969
Forty-four percent (44%) of American adults approve of the way that President Bush is performing his job. Fifty-four percent (54%) disapprove. Those are the best numbers for the President in months and it remains to be seen whether today’s update reflects lasting change or merely statistical noise.

The Rasmussen Reports daily updates are based upon nightly telephone interviews and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. The overwhelming majority of interviews for today’s update were completed before President Bush’s address to the nation last night.

That seems to me like a baby or dead cat bounce.

11. Do I smell setting up a plausable story why the elections
went Republican?

A 3 point jump for the same speech he has given 10,000 times
before?

19. That was the worst speech so far
in that it was so much a repeat and not reality based. I usually listen to the jerk to see if he gets a better speech writer but this one was the worst under the circumstances of a 9-11 stump by him all day and the media going along with the hype. What is with a 5 year anniversary? Silly me, elections of course.

The comment that made me cringe was that if we didn't defeat the terrorist over there they would "follow" us. Like they don't know where we are? It doesn't make sense and he has said it often lately. How can he get a bump from those kinds of statements? The Big Lie is starting early for the election.

First thing this a.m. the media is describing how we have lost about 1/3 of Iraq (most populated) to the enemy. Same with Afghanistan, Taliban taking over just like when Russia tried to control the area. Do you get an awful sinking feeling when all this news sinks in. Of course bush knew things were going drastically down hill in the countries we are trying to bring democracy to last night while he was trying to say black was white again. It's a terrible joke on the American people. And the bs goes on.

12. It's really hard
to imagine that he actually gained points for that politicized piece of dung he delivered last night.

Who in the hell actually changed their mind after hearing that?

14. I'm beginning to distrust telephone polls.
(Not telephone poles, however.)

I think that we're going to see that they are skewed this November. There's going to be some real surprises.

16. Statistical noise
The article clearly states that the overwhelming majority of interviews were completed before President Bush’s address. Tomorrow's numbers will be much more conclusive as to whether he'll recieve a bounce or not.
