We are under attack Insurance Cange Could Cost Military Retirees
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 12:40 PM by Monkeyman
Washington-Some working military retirees would lose thousands of dollars a year under a proposed cost-cutting move for a federal heath-insurance program.

This year's House and Senate defence bills would ban civilain empolyers-including local and state governments -------from paying incentives to military retirees who use the Department of Defence Tricare insurance instead of their companies 'health plans. (What Plans Co-pays are higher)

We are under attack veterans across this country are losing benefits in all areas. Proof is every replugs has failing grades in veterans issues. Vote Smart has the grades this story is on

3. Dad lost thousands in med benefits in the 1980s.
They like to screw over the military because they know they're toadies or won't complain as they should.

4. Thanks Monkey Man
Your efforts are greatly appreciated by our Vet community. This issue so far has not effected me (I have the strong desire to stay as healthy as possible.)

Another move that has yet to develop fully is the military thrift savings plan. I believe in about another 20 years that will be mandatory for military personnel and there will be no built in retainer/retiree pay offered to enlistees.

If one is vested in a state or local insurance plan is that not the payer of first resort and tricare the last?
