Patriot Day My Ass mr. bush, I can think of much better names. |
|
Edited on Tue Sep-12-06 01:46 PM by Philosoraptor
Yesterday the president called upon the nation to observe what THEY now call patriot day. If there really were a just god he/she would smite them down with a bolt from the blue for even uttering the word patriot.
It just reminds me of the millions of times they have questioned my own patriotism, one of the main things that fascists do. So now to throw it in our faces they will officially call it patriot day, when they wouldn't know a true patriot if they tripped over one or attended the funeral of one.
How about Terror Day? Horror Day? Infamy Day? Pearl Harbor II Day? Fascist Takeover Day?
New World Order Day? New American Century Day? Osama Day? Hoax Day? Death Day? Happy Freedom Day? Exploit the Dead Day?
Republican Rule Day? Let it Happen Day? Bush was on Vacation Day? Coup de Tat Day?
Fuck you and your patriot day ape man, I'll always refer to it as your day, the day you dreamed of and got.

it's called the 4th of July! Neo-cons would love 2 obliterate any connection 2 independence and the founding of this country - crikey people might actually look at and read the Constitution otherwise.

We've had Patriots' Day in Massachusetts for a long time now. Traditionally it was on the anniversary of the battles of Lexington and Concord. But it's typical for Bush to want us to forget about real patriotism -- standing up against the world's foremost imperial power with only a rifle in your hands.

assholes. Whether it's a LIHOP, a MIHOP, or a simple failure of omission, the fact remains that it happened on their watch, and they'll be remembered for that; our soil was attacked when it was their responsibility to protect it. Not avenge it, prevent it.
I will continue to celebrate patriotism on Independence Day, as Americans have done for 250 years. September 11 was hardly a watershed of patriotism, any more than the Day of Infamy, December 7; it should be remembered and mourned, but it is not something to get all jingoistic about. Not only Americans died that day, in the WTC, in the Pentagon, and on Flight 93. The world mourned. It is a worldwide day for remembrance and mourning, not an American day.

There is nothing patriotic about 9/11. This is one of the darkest dates in American history if not the darkest. History will prove that out.
But to call it Patriots Day is trying to take advantage of the event and create this nationalism and give the people with nothing a warm and fuzzy feeling about their country.
Well that warm and fuzzy feeling is the slime from the monsters that have grown within.
To my dying day, I will deny calling 9/11 anything patriotic.

ones.
It wasn't just "Patriots"/Americans that died that awful day and it does an incredible disservice to those that needlessly died that day because BuSh*Co ignored the outgoing Clinton Admin's warnings when he took office and then later ignored the information given to him just a few weeks before that an attack was in the works. :grr:
9-11 doesn't need to be called anything but 9-11 and we will remember what happened that day... always.

Instead of the traditional white sales, shoe stores can have "Condi Specials" on BLDTSWUS Day.
Naah, it'll never happen, if only because it's too close to Labor Day.
