In RI. I voted Lawless and Sheeler. I was 196th to vote in a district that has about 1000 registered voters. That was at 6:30 PM

Oh, it ain't cheesy to vote for yourself. EEK! If you won't vote for yourself, why would you expect others to vote for you?

AND took my 18 yo daughter for her first vote. She was so excited. This may have eclipsed her driver's license. And she's interning for NARAL. She's a good 'un.

The "party" endorses its candidates and this is pretty much a done deal. Candidates here do not campaign for the voters but to party activists. Rarely do candidates stay in the race to face the voters during primaries and their chances are small. In fact, they are considered damaged goods.
A recent editorial was amazed that so many people, while surveyed at the state fair, had no idea when the primaries were going to take place.
My district has three Democrats wanting to run against a very well dug Republican and I have not received a single mailing from any of them. Did not see any yard signs and no ads in the papers. In fact, they did not have to file campaign finance statement because they spent less than $5,000. Obviously one of them will run in November and I will vote for that person but it will be like a sacrificial lamb.
And tomorrow the newspapers will lament the low turnout.

Proudly part of Tasini's 16% and Elliot Spitzer's landslide.

I did notice that street corner signs really popped up overnight. There have been some the past few weeks, but this morning on my way to work, they seem to have multiplied like rabbits in the dark of night.
