Video: 9/11 memorial service in Afghanistan attacked

A U.S. military base in Afghanistan is attacked during their 9/11 memorial service on Monday. CNN reporter Anderson Cooper was reporting live from the base at the time it came under fire.

Soldiers and others can be seen scrambling in the video below, as enemy rockets are heard in the background. Quickly, the U.S. forces return fire with large Howitzer cannons.

As dusk fell over the base, the attacks ceased. The Soldiers insisted on finishing their commemoration of the fifth anniversary of 9/11.

3. I disagree. At least someone is finally paying attention to the mess

that is returning to Afghanistan. Cause the Taliban did give comfort and aide to bin Laden. And Afghanistan is where the war has started up again. I'm glad CNN is reporting it. Them is the facts. And just because there was a "quaint" story attached re: interruption of 9/11 rememberance... I wouldn't discount that. Reason: most of the people on the ground are teenagers... many of whom signed up because of 9/11.

Don't be so synical. I know it is hard. I'd let up a bit.

I've been observing his behavior since going down to NOLA and I think AC has 'cracked'. I think now he looks for danger and has put himself in a very unstable situation.
