WH responds to the Time/Washingtonian revelation re: Bush & Abramoff pics

http://www.portervillerecorder.com/articles/2006/01/21/ap/headlines/d8fa06480.txt

<snip>

The White House has acknowledged that Abramoff attended some events at the Executive Mansion, and spokeswoman Dana Perino said Sunday it's not surprising that the two would have met.

"The president has taken tens upon thousands of pictures at such events," Perino said.

Abramoff met a few times with White House staff and attended Hanukkah receptions in 2001 and 2002, the White House has said, but officials there have refused to disclose how many times he's been into the complex or what business he had there.

...

The White House, after playing down the Bush-Abramoff photos and the lobbyist's ties to the president, criticized Abramoff for breaking the law. "Mr. Abramoff admitted being involved in outrageous wrongdoing," Perino said.

2. The White House has zero credibility, and everyone knows it....
Well, almost everyone. Probably somewhere around 70% of Americans, and 99% of the rest of the world.

3. What bullshit.
"TIME did not publish the photographs, saying its source refused to provide them for publication."

Why is the source refusing to provide them? A big Bush fan I presume or holding out for big bucks?

4. Did they comment on Abramoff's ability to arrange meetings with Shrub?
We know that happened.
He had some clients who wanted to meet the MurderMonkey,
they gave him checks for 25 thou,
and PRESTO: they met the MurderMonkey!

How does someone who doesn't know B*sh pull that off?

6. According to Abramoff they were friendly. They cut part of the story.
http://www.washingtonian.com/capital_comment/2006/PowerPlayers/02.html Sources say the photographs are being kept safe. Abramoff would tell prosecutors, if asked, that not only did he know the President, but the President knew the names of Abramoff’s children and asked about them during their meetings. At one such photo session, Bush discussed the fact that both he and Abramoff were fathers of twins.

7. Okay, okay, Abramoff was here
But you aren't entitled to know when or how often.

The corrupt Bush administration: Citizens are expected to be tapped and surveilled and spied on, but they have no obligation to disclose any of the business in the people's White House.

9. Geez. Is "outrageous wrongdoing" the euphemism du jour for felony?
Scotty used much the same phrase last week.
