I think we really need to get take a stand to get our country back on track for what is good and what is right. One thing that sticks in my craw is the minimum wage and how Congress sees nothing in giving themselves a raise all while denying the people of the country more in hourly wages.

I think something that would be good to push is hiking up the minimum wage and I believe an effective strategy for winning over people, and garnering attention, would be if we all got together - new people who are running as well as the regulars, and all of the democratic candidates announced they will stand with the American people and not accept anything above minimum wage until a new minimum wage bill is passed.

Any surplus money could be passed onto homeless shelters or food banks, etc. and records would be open to the public so they would see that our party was on the up and up.

It is about time the people see the politicians standing with them instead of assuming everyone is painted with the same brush. Perhaps if they see our representatives standing up for them then they will stand with the representatives.

Just a thought. I think it would still work even if some of the candidates do it but it would make a huge statement if all of them did it. What do you think?

1. I think that we should pay Congresscritters no more than say 10x the
minimum wage.

2. I agree with that as well.
That would be one way to keep the money grubbing thugs away from these jobs. Make it so that you need to live an economical lifestyle on what you get paid and make sure you can not collect from lobbyists. Change the whole system.

4. Yeah, he tried but he did not say he would stand with....
'the little people' and only accept minimum wage. If all democrats in the congress and senate did this then I think it would make a huge impact on the voters.
