So tell me, what will stop the shrub from saying |
|
"Ya know, we're right in the middle of this War On Terra thingy and I just can't see myself leaving the White House."
With all this Unitary Executive theory talk, what will keep these fascists from trying to repeal the 22nd amendment?
We know what the Dickweed in Chief thinks about congress, what if he just tells them all to "Fuck off, you can't impeach me, and I ain't leaving in '08." With Alito on the SCOTUS and that crazy interpretation of executive powers, dick weed can do whatever the fuck he wants and can stay however long he wants.
I don't think this is crazy talk. Is it?

2. here's the bad part. Lazy America would passively accept. |

it's incrementalism at it's worst. Few of us have exercised ourselves regarding the idea of saving our liberty and protecting democratic institutions

6. but what bothers me is this |
|
unitary executive crap. Coupled with the Patriot Act, it sounds like the neo-cons want to give what is equivilent to Nazi Germany's Emergency Powers Act.

12. Yes, that is troubling. |

The only way I think he can stay in there longer than his term is if another "attack" occurs in country or perhaps multiple attacks over a short period of time. Something that would give them the go ahead to declare martial law or what not. How they would enforce it I don't know. I think it more likely that they just keep stealing the elections until the "people" decide dictatorship is what they want. They are following a long term plan.

The fact that he is just a figurehead, a puppet. "THEY" have no intention of ever leaving, but they WILL replace their trained monkeys every 8 years.

The ratification process will keep that from happening, but I CAN see a scenario where the elections are postponed indefinitely due to terror, terror, terror! or possibly a MIHOP event. How that will go down with the People I do not know, but I think they are loony enough to try it.

If they repeal the 22nd amendment.. then we will have President Bill Clinton.
That's the only thing giving the Pukes pause..... and it would be their worst nightmare. The mere thought of that makes me laugh out loud.

the office...either directly as a candidate or indirectly in their support for a crony who will reward them for clearing the way.....won't happen...that's the good thing about these greedy bastards...eventually they will eat themselves....

Nothing stops people from trying pass another amendment to overture the 22nd amendment - just like happened with prohibition. The chance of it actually happening is probably slim to none. The 22nd amendment was aimed directly at FDR and I imagine his dying in office had a lot to do with the public being willing to let it pass.

It would be an issue that would galvanize BOTH sides fighting for the same goal. Republicans would never allow that to stand, no matter how much we think they support the shrub. Fact is, there are many republicans who want their shot at power. No way in hell they would sit idly by while * forced his way to remain in the seat and took away their shot.
Ain't gonna happen.
