Can someone give me cliff notes on Arthur Anderson? |
|
They were the first domino to fall in the corruption investigations, and it happened so quickly, that I'd like to look at it again with fresh eyes. What was their role with Enron? What was it that they were shredding, that might have relevance today?

1. They were their corporate accounts and they verified the books |

for the SEC. They were the number one accounting firm in the USA. They either came up with all the wierd accounting tricks or helped Enron do them. When Enron feel and people started looking at the accounting books, AA was shredding the accounting books. There is the possibility there were two sets of books, and those would be at the top of the shredding priority.

I always got the impression there was more to it, because it's so rare to see a major corporation tackled in this manner.

I guess after that experience you learned enough about a corrupt system to understand there was a need for a place like DU to seek balance in our world.

6. It was utterly fascinating. |

Never thought accounting and banking would be so interesting. Yeah they were some corrupt mo-fos, that is for sure. I will never forget one piece of evidence from the S&L "training files" it was a sample deposit certificat "pre"-filled out with "Old Lady" in the name and "life savings" in the amount - they knew what they were doing.
