1. They'd better actually HAVE the photo
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 11:36 AM by Marie26
or I'm off Raw Story forever. And it's not with Abramoff himself, just an Abramoff client. Didn't Abramoff have tons of clients, including Indian tribes? I'm sure there's photos of Democrats meeting the Indian casino lobbyists as well. We need the picture of Abramoff for this to make the TV news.

4. There's ONE person? organization? attorney? news source?
who has the photos and they are keeping them for "safe keeping." :7 Me thinks someone is playing this JUST RIGHT! The cabal is sweating BULLETS over who? has the photos, what's in them? and when will they be released? NO ONE KNOWS. I really doubt Rawstory has any of the pics. Unless this is a NEW or DIFFERENT source than the rest of the media have depended on.

3. Ummmm... I thought we decided that Abramoff Clients weren't the problem
but Abramoff himself was. Isn't that why we're saying Democrats are clean?

6. And he won't be.
Otherwise, wouldn't they say "Abramoff pic" instead of "Abramoff client pic"?

10. I agree
If we're going to start attacking people for posing w/Abramoff clients, I'm sure Republicans can play that game too.

7. Republicans have already poo-pooed the pictures....
They say Bush has taken pictures with thousands of people.

This is the typical response to everything that can make Bush look bad.

8. But how many of those "thousands of people" have had 5 pictures taken
with the idiot? How many have had their CHILDREN'S picture taken with the idiot. That excuse won't float either.

11. I wouldn't underestimate what the public "would buy"
I agree with your point, but reality and perception are two different things. In these times, perception is more real to the public than reality.

16. lots and lots
The White House hosts around 2 dozen holiday parties every year, with a couple of 100 or more in attendance at each and children are welcome at some of them. There typically is a photo line and the pres poses with guests (and their kids). Its not at all surprising that there are multiple photos of Abramoff and his kids, since he probably has scored an invite to the WH Hanukah party every year. Its the pic of Abramoff, his Indian chief client and chimpy that we should be focusing attention on. The repubs are going to try to lump that photo in with the others and we need to let the others go and focus on that one, which was taken at a much smaller "business" meeting rather than at a party. The WH undoubtedly will say that chimpy just did a "drop by" to shake hands and do a photo op. But there are dozens of such meetings in the WH every day and he obviously doesn't drop by and pose for photos at every one. What made this one, with Abramoff's clients, so special?

14. Dan Bartlett has his spin out there...
He says (paraphrasing):

Abramoff is very connected in Washington and has contact with many people.

Bush has taken pictures with Abramoff, we acknowleded that...

I wonder what the darn picture show.

15. Did he happen to explain why
they were trying to get their hands on every photo ever made with the idiot and Abramoff? I don't suppose any "journalist" asked them why they were trying to hide those photos?

17. It's just a link to a Time magazine article.
Edited on Mon Jan-23-06 01:26 PM by rocknation
...TIME has seen five photographs of Abramoff and the President that suggest a level of contact between them that Bush's aides have downplayed. While TIME's source refused to provide the pictures for publication, they are likely to see the light of day eventually because celebrity tabloids are on the prowl for them. And that has been a fear of the Bush team's for the past several months: that a picture of the President with the admitted felon could become the iconic image of direct presidential involvement in a burgeoning corruption scandal like the shots of President Bill Clinton at White House coffees for campaign contributors in the mid-1990s. (link)

I doubt the the source would have shown Time the photos unless he expected to get an offer for them. Either Time refused to meet the source's price, or they've fabricated the tabloid angle to cover up the Bush empire's orders that the photos are not to appear in the "legimate" media. And did you notice the little "blame Clinton" dig?
