1. Just so that those nasty libs don't go stealing any elections
On those new-fangled electronic voting machines!
Seriously - that's how it'll be spun.

Better to have them deluded into thinking that they are preventing stolen elections for the wrong reasons than no reason at all.

14. Don't kid yourself
The only reason Fox News would be showing this is to lay the groundwork to accuse the Democrats of attempting to steal the election. If enough hysteria can be generated da Fuhrur might even postpone the election until he can "correct" the situation. I put nothing past this criminal regime.

(Read Mark Crispin Miller's Fooled Again for an expose on how thoroughly Republican operatives project onto hapless Democrats what they themselves are doing.)

24. Correct. It proves that although Rove et al can steal
one or two critical battleground states in a presidential election;
they aren't capable of flipping multiple races in all 50 states at the mid-terms
YET
So they are planting the seed to contest them when they lose in Nov

These guys do NOTHING without ulterior motive involved

4. Not a surprise... The CHAOS is the point....
If no one can be sure who won... There is an excuse to nullify the whole procedure . . no election. . . martial law..

All kinds of mischief come out of chaos. (witness armed contractors during Katrina)

...after they cut away from Felten and his team, this way: "Well, there you have it. Now you too can steal votes in 5 easy minute or less. Your Fuhrur insists! We have to steal it over here before we have to steal it over there! Let's roll!"

19. Do we get to call them sore losers?
Which is what they say whenever 2004 is discussed or even 2000.

It is positivly Rovian and unbelieveable that when Bush actually had fewer popular votes than Gore that they managed to keep their countenances and utter the words "Sore-Loserman." You'd think it would have at least bothered them that Chimpy got fewer votes. An anomaly of the electoral college that exists, and can cause the "loser" to "win."

15. Great! The FOX audience are the
ones who are most deluded and most in need of this information.

My brother (ex-Air Force) and many of my other relatives watch FOX and believe everything they hear on FOX. But if they saw real evidence of the way Diebold can be used to steal elections, they would be up in arms.

A lot of FOX viewers/Republicans are on that side still only because they don't know what we know. They are typically hard-headed, so they refuse to watch anything that they consider to be "liberal media." But they do trust FOX, and if they see such evidence on FOX, they will believe it.

The real Bush die-hards are the ones who turn against FOX the minute they see something that goes against their preconceived notions that the Republicans are pure and good and Dems/liberals are evil incarnate. But a lot of FOX viewers are not like that. They are just ignorant and hard-headed and need a smack upside the head with a two-by-four to wake them up.

16. At this point encouraging electoral mistrust is their best bet.
I really wonder if these November elections will be a little or a large disaster.
I read elsewhere on DU that 80% of midterm voters will be using electronic
voting machines. This is so unbelievable to me considering all the questions
raised. Eighty percent? If as a result the government shuts down will this
benefit the repugs or the liberal progressive who has been stomped on at
every turn since 2000 anyway?

29. Probably true, but in the long run this will backfire....
If we are able to get fair and reliable voting methods in place throughout this country, the Neoclowns don't have a chance. No more stolen elections means they will lose.

I welcome conservatives getting on the anti-Diebold bandwagon. They will be helping us.

21. the repukes consciously use projection as a propaganda tool
It is a basic tenet of the Lee Atwater school of disinformation (borrowed from Goebbells)

They accuse their enemies of doing or being the evil things that they themselves do or are.

This is innoculating the base against the coming Democratic wins (a 75%-25% or better Democratic win is too hard to game). They'll try to spin elections as false if they lose, especially in blue states. Remember that they called Gore a sore loser and accused him of trying to subvert democracy for challenging the Florida non-count. Meanwhile, THEY sued in New Mexico, challenging the outcome there. Ownership of the media guarantees that their hypocricy will never be exposed. But the net effect is (as always) to cloud the issue and turn the whole election fraud issue into a "he-said-she-said" morass that will confuse, anger and alienate the public.

This strategy would be impossible if the media did their job.
