You know something I never understood?
Why a president's refusal to admit a mistake was ever anything to be admired or respected.

It takes a big man to admit when he is wrong. And it shows character and an ability to evolve in doing so.

Never showing regret for anything you've ever done makes you look like a stubborn, arrogant asshole.

2. Cultists never admit they're wrong about anything
After all, August 22 came and went without the promised rapture. Nobody got sucked into the sky buck naked to the hoots of amused neighbors. Nothing much happened except we lost a few more rights. Yet they've all gone back to their wingnut churches as though it was all a mistake but we know the rapture is just around the corner and all you suckas will be left here to clean up after us blah blah blah.

They don't care that Stupid never admits a mistake, not even to himself. It's how they live.

3. Because (core) Republicans are LOYAL.
I saw parts of that Matt Lauer interview.

My Republican friend would say, "How DARE he 'address' the PRESIDENT that way!"

But when Clinton was in that same office......

My point is that through their loyalty, they can rationalize anything. For example, they can channel Bush's refusal to admit mistakes (and not "take responsiblity") as being a "good leader" blaw blaw blaw...

4. Read 'politician' for President.
What politician would not shock the voters with a real heart felt
apology or declaration for that matter?

Does Nixons 'Checkers' speech count? It worked didn't it?

What would have happened if Bill Cllinton said: " Yeah sorry.
I did something really stupid. I apologize. The rest is between
me and my family."

What would have happened to Nixon if he confessed to over exuberance
in the WaterGate affair? Well, he really was a crook so maybe he would have been led
off in chains anyway but I doubt it. Weren't all his real problems a result of the cover up?

And what about all the political geniuses that I don't get to vote for as my president or Senator
because the media will slay them over drugs, being gay or whatever? Why can't the politicos declare
at the outset "this is who I am get over it or get another candidate?"
