George Allen's biggest handicap in this race is his |
|
first name was pointed out by some pundit on on of the cable channels last week. I was busy and only listening so I don't know who it was and my old brain cells are retrieving which show it was on. If anyone with younger brain cells who saw this can fill in the blanks, it would be appreciated. It just occurred to me though, that in that vein of thinking, some campaign placard advertising Allen as "the other George" (remember those pork advertisements) could only superglue him to *.

2. "the other George" - brilliant! Way to not only superglue him to bush |
|
but maybe some of Allen's macacca-caca will rub off on the chief torturer.

4. LOL!!! Actually, I've been thinking about this a little since I posted it. |
|
Those pork commercials would be just fine. George Allen is "the other white meat." Racist creep that he is.

6. ambiguity -- is he a racist or not? is he an apologetic racist? |
|
If he were an overt racist, that would definitely up his standing with some of the GOP base, and the rest would get to evaluate whether his position was more important than their other pet issues like tax slashing and court stacking.
If he were obviously egalitarian or a declared ex-racist, he could run as a civil rights Republican -- which would gin up some appeal with moderates and dilute any minority opposition.
But being an apologetic racist, splicing fakey racial diversity shots into his campaign footage, just makes him look like a shameless panderer and lessens support from both moderates and the hardline racist thugs.
