3. What's with the blue suits with white shirts and red ties?
I've noticed that has become a sort of patriotic uniform for Republicans although the Democratic candidate is wearing a similar outfit too. They look like they should be ushers in Congress, not a senator and a candidate.

5. In the language of color, blue symbolizes honesty, while red denotes power
It can make a very effective visual, if the candidate does indeed embody those traits. If s/he doesn't, then it looks too much as if the candidate is masquerading as someone who DOES.
