If this program is to move forward. If he doesn't get his way he'll have to stop the program. This program is going on as we speak. We ARE TORTURING PEOPLE RIGHT NOW.

3. I can't even believe that this is being argued in my America.
Burn the history books folks, this nation, as founded, does not exist.

2. America has been torturing people, yes
and yes, by their words they admit to it

and yet Congress behaves as if there is anything to debate...other than articles of impeachment

8. EXACTLY. He was CLEARLY INCENSED that "they aren't going
to break the law"!!!!

Thus, he seeks to make the illegal, legal; the unacceptable, acceptable (it's only THOUGHTS that are "unacceptable" to him); the evil, ignored.

IOW, Bush seeks NOT to eliminate torture, but to codify it.

6. As the other thread said,
"Torture is un-American." These arses have reduced my country to a cruel dictatorship.

11. Busholini wants to make this legal.

He wants to make Secret Prisons and Warrentless Spying legal. He wants to make humiliating methods, abuse and waterboarding legal. He wants all that to be retro-active, so that he and his criminal participants cannot be prosecuted &/or sued.
