18. About Republicans and Security:

Maybe the reason Al Quade hasn't attacked us in five years is that Bin Laden got everything he wanted from 9/11.

1. ENDLESS WAR. Provoke Bush to bog down the US in a guerilla war. He saw it bring down the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, so why not the US? Bonus for Al Quaeda: Bush bogs US down in TWO guerilla wars.

2. WEAKEN THE GIANT. Destroy our military, and we become a weak giant. (See #1)

3. FINANCIAL RUIN. Destroy the US financially: We are mortgaged to the Chinese and our future has been spent on futile wars and pork funding excesses because "it's wartime". We have no money to do anything for ourselves or the rest of the world any more.

4. LOSS OF PRESTIGE AND INFLUENCE. Bush's reactionary excesses and disparagement of diplomacy have cost the US all our friends, prestige, and most of our influence in the world.

5. LESSEN FEAR OF CIA. Destroy the CIA and other intelligence apparatus. Bush made the CIA the scapegoat for 9/11, and now nobody in the world is afraid of them - - or us.

6. DESTROY OUR CONFIDENCE. Destroy the confidence of the US. We got hit, we still can't believe it, we're still reeling and reacting.

7. OUR RIGHTS. Undermine the freedoms and rights that, historically, have made America unique and a beacon to the rest of the world. "We're in a war" afterall, so we need safety over individual freedoms.

8. ONE-PARTY RULE. Fear of "Terra! Terra! Terra! has cemented - - so far - - Republican dominance for the foreseeable future.

What more could Bin Laden and Al Queda possibly want to gain from another attack?

George Bush is giving him everything he could ever have hoped for - - and with just one attack.
