Five Duquesne University basketball players injured in shooting

on the campus in Pittsburgh, Pa. I haven't found a link yet. Just heard this on the redio news. I'll keep looking.

This is very unusual to me. I lived not too far from that school for over 40 years, and that kind of stuff just didn't happen there!

1. It's time for stronger gun regulations and a war on USA's sick gun culture
Remember how the gun lobby and their pimps keep saying there isn't that much blood running in the streets. As long as it's "urban" people that is.

2. Well, Duquesne IS in the city of Pgh. Ihonestly don't think it's a problem
with the gun culture. I will wait to see what reason they give for these particular shootings, but I bet it doesn't have anything to do with guns.

I disagreewith you that gun ownership needs to be curbed. We need to find out what is causing people to think that violence is the only way to deal with their problems.

It didn't startin the last five years, or I wouldblame it on our President who seems to believe that!

4. No other advanced nation has our weak laws or these dreadful results
In France they had all those riots and only one person died. In America, the gun lobby thru their republican and DINO lackys in government try to suppress even keeping statistics about gun mayhem.

$100 billion in costs per year and a "unique capacity to terrorize the public" according the Brooking's institute.

"Compared with other developed nations, the United States is unique in its high rates of both gun ownership and murder. Although widespread gun ownership does not have much effect on the overall crime rate, gun use does make criminal violence more lethal and has a unique capacity to terrorize the public. Gun crime accounts for most of the costs of gun violence in the United States, which are on the order of $100 billion per year."

5. I would love to knowjust what that $100 billion pays for.
I was an accountant for 40+ years, and I KNOW you can make numberslegitimately say whatever you want them to say.

ie: If police salaries are included in that number, those officers would be paid no matter what they were doing, so invesstigating a gun crime isn't more costly than a knife attack. If they include the costs of the DA, court room, and public defender, that too is a job that is paid for no matter what cases they handle.

$100 billion sounds like a very suspect number to me. I'd love to see the breakdown of how they got there!
