False Reports on Iran a Replay of Run-Up to Iraq War?
By E&P Staff

Published: September 16, 2006

NEW YORK A report today by veteran McClatchy (formerly Knight Ridder) reporters John Walcott and Warren P. Strobel warns that some of the same type of shaky intelligence that proved false in the run up to the Iraq war may be rearing its head again in regard to Iran.

"U.S. intelligence and counterterrorism officials say Bush political appointees and hard-liners on Capitol Hill have tried recently to portray Iran's nuclear program as more advanced than it is and to exaggerate Tehran's role in Hezbollah's attack on Israel in mid-July," they write..

"President Bush, who addresses the U.N. General Assembly on Tuesday, has said he prefers diplomacy to stop Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon, but he hasn't ruled out using military force. Several former U.S. defense officials who maintain close ties to the Pentagon say they've been told that plans for airstrikes - if Bush deems them necessary - are being updated."

As E&P has often noted in the past, reports from Strobel, Walcott and others in the former KR Washington office, proved more skeptical and accurate than those from other leading news organizations in the pre-Iraq invasion push.

1. If it worked once,
they will do it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again.

Get the picture??

2. Thank goodness that The Executive Branch's "evil forces" are not all that
insightful nor creative. :-)

As whorish as the M$M has behaved in support of the Invasion of Iraq, they are NOT equally as out of touch with the American People. The suits of the M$M love the thought of perpetual war, but are more intelligent than The Executive Branch and therefore aware: This One Trick "Dog and Pony" show of spinning up support for a 2nd Invasion will NOT WORK.

No matter how much Tweety Chirps, McDonnell Whores, and Glenn Beck racistly slimes Iran and tries to justify Torture and Perpetual War, the men upstairs (the M$M Executives) are beginning to understand that The American People will have none of it.

Notice how on some fronts MSNBC and CNN are *permitting* voices of dissent air their views? No, the M$M will always shill for Wall Street but it is not a given that it will INSANELY push warmongering. The CEOs know that all the King's PsyOps Men and all of the paid off Media Whores are anything but "insane" they KNOW that war cheer-leading will NOT work THIS time.

The Executive Branch is spinning their heads around and puking pea soup because THEY KNOW that The American People through their Congress is about to perform a "Political Exorcism." Dear Leader and Darth Cheney's ABSOLUTE POWER days are numbered. Further, those henchmen surrounding them are beginning to wake up from their Neo-Conservative delusions of World Domination.

Fasten Your Seat Belts fellow Americans, they will not go down without a knock down, dragged out fight ... but it's for sustaining our Democratic Republic. Therefore, NO COWARDS will remain in Congress if they do NOT take a stand for you and me, LIBERTY for the American People over the Empiric Desires of The Executive Branch and the Military Industrial Complex.
